My back garden has quite high walls, as do all our neighbours. Between our kids and the kids next door, we've had our fair share of balls and such flying over the walls. I have my kids toss them back, no problem. We have no relationship with these neighbours (we've tried several times since we've moved in, but they don't want to know. Nothing bad, we just don't talk to each other. The kids do talk, loudly but friendly, over the wall to each other).
Issue we've had this week is one large stuff doll got tossed over the wall, we tossed it back, and it came back over the wall within an hour. This has been happening for almost a week now - the same doll (or at least it looks the same - very large doll) being tossed into our garden.
My husband thinks we should let our DC keep it until/unless the neighbours come around and collect it as the weather will ruin it if it's out all night (lots of rain not good for a stuffed doll) and they keep tossing it back to us so maybe the kids are trying to give it ours. I feel we should give it back as it is not ours but I am too tired and heavily pregnant to care enough .
So would we be unreasonable to tell them they can keep it until the neighbours come collect it or would this send some horrible message?
