to bloody hate, hate, hate mopping floors grrrrrrrr!!!

Just spent the last hour hoovering throughout downstairs (all hard floor), moving all the furniture and then mopping right through. I can safely say that is the worst housework chore ever. I'm bloody knackered and sweating cobs!! Give me toilets to clean or washing up any day!!

Please tell me that I'm not alone - is there anyone out there who actually enjoys it???!!

I like it when it's clean and I need to have a clean house so I don't mind that much! The secret to really clean floors is to use boiling water - makes all the difference!

No, but if you consider it is also a workout, there you go, you've actually managed to squeeze in an hour at the gym! Not that bad!

I bloomin hate mopping the floors! Give me a hoover and I'm fine. Wouldn't be so bad but the only room I have to mop is tiny, so ne reason why I should loathe it that mmuch.

YABU. Mopping ceilings would be more difficult.

I love it clean but don't do it enough as there's such a big area to do and within an hour of my 2 DC's getting up in the morning it will be looking grubby again

I need to start offering DH marital rights persuading DH that he should do it.......

Put a wet cloth under each foot and skate round the room. Much more fun and does the job better

I have wooden flooring throughout and mop daily, i find it much easier than other chores tbh, I need to be better with my toilets

I actually quite like mopping the floors, especially if there are doggy pawprints to get rid of...instant clean house gratification

I just don't think I will ever enjoy it - and sure enough there was yoghurt and milk splashed everywhere this morning thanks to the DC's.....

haha i've got a lovely mental image now of mn'ers gracefully skating across their living rooms with a wet cloth under each foot like jasper! think i could end up with a broken nose if i tried that!

DW hates vacuuming but likes mopping, I'm the reverse. She likes ironing but so do I (somehow feels therapeutic). I like washing dishes which she dislikes, but she enjoys picking out clothes for DC which somehow stresses me out.

So I do it on my hands and knees and yes, I hate it.

I mop 25 buses every night - start at 21.30, finish about 1/2 am, depending on the circumstances. I use roughly 1300 calories as it is energy intensive.

Oh and my dh mops our house as I only mop buses
