Do get it checked out as it can be a sign of a brain tumour.

lookbutdonttouch in my old (haunted) house, I sometimes could smell a horrible, rotten, dirty smell at the top of the stairs. I'm very perseptive and knew it was something unpleasant from a past age.

Oh marvelous, a brain tumor, just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse.

I sometimes smell insulin really strongly. The only reason i know what this smells like is that my mum was diabetic and me and my sister used to find her injections fascinating and you could smell the insulin when she put it in the needle. No idea why i am assuming its a different smell that i somehow get confused with insulin or just my imagination.

loopylou6 · 31/10/2011 13:01

Don't understand your sarcasm? I know its not a nice thing to say to someone, but I'd rather bring your attention to it than leave you ignorant.

My dad had these smells and he was referred for an mri.

MissVerydead · 31/10/2011 13:32

Dirtydishes Insulin stinks and has a very individual smell!

I get olfactory hallucinations as well- when DD was born, I was very ill, and used to smell toffee, oranges, coffee and blood/metal all the time. It was so weird.

Now I just get a really weird distorted sense of smell just before a monster migraine.

I used to smell jasmin when I soaked in the bath in one of the many flats I've lived in. I like the smell. But not so much when I found out one of the former tenants had committed suicide in that bathtub and was fond of jasmin oil.

I've never been able to use it since.

Shock sansa

SansaLannister · 31/10/2011 16:21

I just went off that scent completely after that! :o
