AIBU to think mark darcy is actually a bit of a dick?!

Yep, but so is she so they make a good match.

cogitosum · 28/10/2011 23:52

True. They are actually a ridiculous couple who don't talk (really overthinking this)

YANBU. But isn't the point that she only falls for dicks the wrong type of bloke?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/10/2011 23:54

YANBU.

Give me Hugh Grant instead, any day.

TunaTiebacks · 28/10/2011 23:55

YABU. He's lovely! Fictional Wink but lovely.

cogitosum · 28/10/2011 23:58

I know. I'll watch the fight scene and love him again!

Have to admit I loved Hugh Grants character in this, his best role. Farcy was a bit wet and Bridget a pain in the arse.

marriedinwhite · 29/10/2011 00:03

But it's worth staying up for and I think Colin Firth's gorgeous!

ChippingInToThePumpkinLantern · 29/10/2011 00:04

Still fuckable though

... just to lower the tone

Grin
cogitosum · 29/10/2011 00:05

Hmm he's redeemed himself...

OP posts:
PattySimcox · 29/10/2011 00:05

I'd still do him. And Hugh Grant.

Obv I'd prefer Hugh if we get a choice.

TunaTiebacks · 29/10/2011 00:13

The bit where he helps her cook birthday dinner and his tie is all loose and then he's nice to her friends...so lovely. Daniel is an arse!

cogitosum · 29/10/2011 00:13

x post. Not redeemed by being fuckable (although I definitely would) he's just rescued her from prison and I love that bit!

OP posts:
thetasigmamum · 29/10/2011 00:16

He loves her just the way she is. It's absolutely beautiful.

PattySimcox · 29/10/2011 00:28

YY Daniel is an arse but we all like a bad boy

celticlassie · 29/10/2011 00:38

Maybe... BUT, he also had the same Mr Darcy awkwardness round people he didn't know thing. So that's why he was a pompous arse.

ilovesooty · 29/10/2011 01:27

He was lovelier in "Love Actually". I loved the way he learned Portuguese "just in cases".

proudfoot · 29/10/2011 01:40

YABU I love Darcy!

pithtaker · 29/10/2011 01:45

yes , he's a twat, but I still would.

AlpinePony · 29/10/2011 04:19

If they were real Bridget would be spamming mn with 'AIBU to expect my dh to stop working 15 hour days?', !AIBU to have a messy house when I have a nanny and a cleaner?'

I agree he's lovely at the birthday dinner, but the lack of communication, formalities and long working days aren't for me.

I am too old to find Daniel attractive anymore.

thetasigmamum · 29/10/2011 08:19

No she wouldn't. We are all smug marrieds. Even those of us who aren't married.

Helen Fielding Was on twitter for a while. Being bridge, mark, cleaver, and Richard finch but I think she got bored. Which is a shame. Still. New book, new film and musical coming up in next year or so. :)

iscream · 29/10/2011 09:41

What? No way, I love him! Not his jumpers though.

FruStefanLindman · 29/10/2011 09:56

I loved the way he learned Portuguese "just in cases".

Wasn't it the Portuguese girl who learned English "just in cases"? But, yes, he was lovelier in Love Actually - I love that film and always cry when I'm watching it Blush

The bit I don't get in BJ is why is his female colleague (the one who turns out to fancy BJ) always hanging around his house - even when he's not there? Confused
