Packed Lunch

Feel like I'm starving my boy - okay not literally I'm aware there are real starving children in the world.

But my ds has a cooked school meal which he normally has 3rds of (both main and pudding), therefore I don't normally have to do packed lunch.

If we are going out for a picnic I always take enough food to feed anyone else who happens to be in the park that day. Blush

Anyway tomorrow my 6yo is off for a full day of sports and needs to take him a packed lunch - I have just packed:

a round of ham sandwiches
chunk of cheese
grapes
apple
2 fairy cakes
penguin
Apple juice
Water

DH says that is plenty - I've said he's going to be famished. Do I need to do more???

No I'm saying if you over feed them (as many of us tend to do now without realising) from an early age...they'll always be hungry after eating a child sized portion.

If however they're used to being fed a smaller amount, their stomach tends to hit the 'full' button when it is actually full.

Maybe it's just me being a 42yr old fuddy duddy Lol...but honestly kids really do eat far more in one sitting than they ever used to it would seem.

Yet sadly, many do a lot less exercise as parents are reluctant to let them play out.

Wish my boy would do that.
Middle DC is on typical portions for a nearly 4 year old and my 2 year old, well he just chucks most of it around, but DS1 it's constantly, can I have more, can I have more, can I have more.

Drives me menkle [hsmile]
