there are many parent who have to work, some are in the NHS, some are in the forces. There are parents who have had the heartache of not having DC due to death.

so stop moaning about having to spend time with families, when there are many who are unable to spend christmas with there family

I really dont think the argument that some have it worse off than you is any kind of argument at all tbh.

whilst what you have posted is true, it is also true that i would rather eat my own fucking flange than spend all of xmas day with my inlaws.

that xmas day is actually supposed to be happy and fun but most peole buy into some bullshit about being chained to the fucking cooker serving ungrateful family fuckers who get pissed on the sherry and cause a family row.

most of mine are dead and some i miss dearly, but that is not to say i cannot empathise/sympathise with the unfortunate fuckers who have to spend xmas day with selfish bastard family members

People see things from their own perspective though. I don't see how you can tell them to stop doing that.

My step-father died A few weeks ago. This Christmas is going to be so strange without him. I'd already bought his christmas present which I know he would've loved.

Can't even imagine how hard it's going to be for my mom this year though.

It's one day in a whole year, and apart from extreme circumstances, I can't see why families just can't make the effort to get along.

YABU, just because someone else is starving...doesn't mean i can't be hungry! and also YABU because it is bloody OCTOBER!!
