DD was selected for instrument lessons at school. The original letter we got about it said cost would be no more than £143.50 and would be invoiced in May. We've just received more info - and are being asked to pay £205, invoiced in November. Will get in touch with school tomorrow about it but aibu if I refused to pay the greater amount and refused to pay til May???

Wow are you in the UK?

All my kids instrument lessons are free apart from a couple of quid insurance per year Shock

Oh - and we were told there'd be a trial period of "no longer than 3 months" - but are now being asked to sign up within 2 weeks!

Yes - in Scotland. Would be free if we were on low income, but being charged for instrument hire and then tuition. Think we'll get her her own violin - cheaper in the long term
