ok, hubby been on work jolly in spain for four days. We have been some what dodge for a while, and he has admitted to flirting with work colleague. So being aware of all this, he has not called, texted in deed anything, until today when he calls and asks if he is in trouble and then is texting all day with updates on his hell return journey... Why? I / we (three daughters aswell) should not be that easy to drop off the radar

he sounds like a selfish prick.

NestaFiesta · 18/09/2011 21:38

YANBU. It's fair enough for him to enjoy himself and let his hair down, BUT when a DH is away the DW's workload is doubled so he should appreciate that you re stuck at home with kids in order for him to live it up and he should be grateful and appreciative.

Also- it's not too much to ask for a quick text/call in the morning and again at night to say goodnight. The other 23.5 hours he can have to himself.

Boys2mam · 18/09/2011 21:39

My DP and I have what most would consider a "normal" relationship in that a weekend away allows freedom but consideration. Ignoring texts would not fall within this remit.

Bohica · 18/09/2011 21:41

He sounds selfish. His children waited for him to send promised pics but he was to trollied to talk to them? Nice.

Bubbles007 · 18/09/2011 21:43

sooo ... Another moan from the boring wife? Lucky me :( or shrug it off and let it rip another hole in my pride and self esteem ? Seriously this is not nice feeling

he calls and asks if he is in trouble- I hate it when blokes do this- it makes them sound like a cute naughty schoolboy and you're the nasty villain.

He's let his kids down and not shown you enough appreciation or consideration. How would he like it if the shoe was on the other foot?

NestaFiesta · 18/09/2011 21:44

Why didn't my bold work?

gawd my old man phones me at least twice a day when away but thats more than likely down to being bored than wanting particularly to chat with me lol

i dont think a day would pass without some contact though, it just wouldnt

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 18/09/2011 21:46

This is a case of what's sauce for the goose.... etc.

Where are you going for your 4 day jolly?

izzywhizzyletsgetbusy · 18/09/2011 21:49

he calls and asks if he is in trouble Nothing naughty schoolboy about it at all Nesta - that's a man that knows damn well he's been a selfish git and he knew it every time he failed to text/call/send pix, but that didn't stop him putting himself first.

Bubbles007 · 18/09/2011 21:50

Eye for an eye ? Jollys are great for a marriage, not good when other half is left feeling pushed out, forgotten, out of sight and mind ...

rolling pin and horse whip out! shame they are being used for an argument ;)

Izzy- I know- it is the DH who is painting himself that way. What I see is a selfish git trying to make his wife look like the bad guy that he's "in trouble" with. Total gittery.

FabbyChic · 18/09/2011 23:21

He has gone away and is acting the single man, he seems to forget a Mrs and children at home.

You are more serious problems to be honest and I'd consider where you want this relationship to go.

YANBU

DP and I are in separate countries this week - him for work, me for sun - and I'd be pretty upset if I hadn't heard from him or he was too trashed to get in touch. As it happens he;s sent so many messages I wish he'd bugger off and let me sunbathe, I don't need to hear about every bloody detail.

Sounds like a selfish git. You are not moaning to expect some contact, that's before you factor in your DDs.
