To complain about the trollies in Tesco

Had a bit of a rant at the poor young girl who had the misfortune to be manning the customer service desk in Tesco this morning. Yet again, there were no trollies with 2 child seats in. Loads of ones with 2 baby seats or 1baby seat & 1 child seat, but none with 2 child seats. So then DS1 had to walk, which he whined about all the way round & constantly got in the way of other trollies & twice mowed down by an out of control pensioner!

Upon inspection of other people's trollies I could see where the missing double seat ones were (of which there only a handful in total)- being used by ladies to hold their handbag!!! Grrrrr!

Customer service girl just looked at me like I was mad, as I was trying to explain that they need to get more 2 seat trollies & keep them separate like they do with the baby seat trollies.

Rant over!

no point in moaning to the poor girl, have a moan at the old ladies using the trollies

How old is DS1?

zelda1982 · 16/09/2011 14:04

They have the same problem in our Asda. I will usually spot one half way down a big row of trollies so willl move them all to get it lol. i must look like a right nutter.

zelda1982 · 16/09/2011 14:05

Forgot to add, if I can't find one then i will just sit dd2 in the actual trolly until its too full. :)

Shop online

We had that at our local Tesco - I asked them every month for nearly a year to get some double baby-seat ones as I couldn't shop with my twins without one. Everytime I asked they said they would but didn't. I even called and spoke with a manager at HO - still nothing. In fact, 3 years later, they still don't have any. It meant I had to go out of my way by about 5 miles to another shop very annoying. They don't have very many of the double seat ones either.

So YANBU!

DS1 is 4, but very small and very lazy! In the end he sat in the trolley and I piled the shopping on top of him!

I was partly ranting on behalf of other mums, as last week when we went shopping there were 3 fellow mothers-of-2, trying to get the double-seat trollies out from a row of about 100 trollies.!

YABU. A four year old should be more than capable of walking around a store by your side.

WoofToYouTooLady · 16/09/2011 16:21

omg 4 ! no wonder he's lazy if you put him in the trolley

YABU and poor CS staff

I often put DS in a trolley seat if I venture to a proper supermarket as it is the only way I can get the shopping done. Keeps him out the way so I can just get the shopping done.

He is six Blush

picnicbasketcase · 16/09/2011 16:26

YABalittleU. It's not the person you ranted at's fault, there was no need to take it out on someone who just happened to be there and had no control over the situation. They can't exactly have someone standing by the trolleys checking that everyone has the right one.
But at the same time I would be irritated to see the trolley I needed being used to carry a handbag.

halcyondays · 16/09/2011 16:45

For years Dd1 used to just sit in the trolley those trollies with the two sets are rarer than hens teeth. Now she mostly walks. There isn't much point ranting at the poor girl on customer services.

baguettecut · 16/09/2011 16:49

I know we all do what we need to make things easier, I'm all for that, but SIX?! My 6 yr old would die of embarrassment if any of his friends caught him in a shopping trolley seat.
