Blush and does being pregnant somehow, by some stretch of the imagination, make this ok?

YANBU. Being pregnant is an excuse for everything Grin

GrimmaTheNome · 14/09/2011 16:07

YANBU, but WTF does pregnancy have to do with it?

PuspornInBoots · 14/09/2011 16:10

Ironing is a Filthy Habit and should be stamped out! YABU for even mentioning such a disgusting activity and need to Get A Grip and STOP! Just Say NO!

manticlimactic · 14/09/2011 16:11

What is this word ironing you speak of? Confused

mumeeee · 14/09/2011 16:27

YANBU. I've started ironing but decided I don't like it much and have cone back on here.

notherdaynotherdollar · 14/09/2011 16:29

by all means ditch the ironing, but please dont blame it on the P work Grin (not not Precious)

mousymouse · 14/09/2011 16:29

yanbu - I don't do ironing at all. don't even know where my iron is.

Kladdkaka · 14/09/2011 16:35

I'm not pregnant so don't have that excuse. I'm supposed to be writing an essay on reproductive technologies and the Human Fertilization and Embryology Act 1990. Want to swap?

Andrewofgg · 14/09/2011 16:38

Just don't get confused Kladd because if you iron the essays and hand in the clothes you'll have buggered two jobs for the price of one! :o

spout · 14/09/2011 16:38

I do not own an iron. The amount of meaningful family time MNing this has afforded me is very precious

EmpressOfTheSevenOceans · 14/09/2011 16:43

I Mumsnet while I'm ironing. Or while I'm stacking the dishwasher / cleaning the fridge. I have my phone sitting on the ironing board or the worktop.

Does that mean I need help?

eaglewings · 14/09/2011 16:48

You don't feel irony thats all there is too it (see pedants corner for explanation)

Kladdkaka · 14/09/2011 17:03

Anyways, what is this 'ironing' that you speak of? Hmm

Andrew, I couldn't be more confused if I tried. I think my brain melted and leaked out of me ears somewhere between intracytoplasmic sperm injection and gamete intrafallopian transfer. Confused

Andrewofgg · 14/09/2011 17:22

Kladdkaka we are siblings in the soul! :o

Andrewofgg · 14/09/2011 17:23

Empress I suspect it means you've got more hands than the usual issue!

EmpressOfTheFucknuggetOceans · 15/09/2011 19:20

Andrew I get help from my pet octopus Grin

TrillianAstra · 15/09/2011 19:22

If we tell you YABU will you go and do the ironing?

Nothing needs ironing anyway, just stretch your t-shirt over your pregnant belly and that will stretch out all the wrinkles.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 15/09/2011 19:22

Empress I MN while cooking / doing the laundry.

I don't iron. Ever.

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 15/09/2011 19:23

OP YANBU. You're pregnant. Put your feet up.

YouHaveNoPowerOverMe · 15/09/2011 19:23

I can multi task!

I have a steam press so the clothes get pressed, I can mumsnet and watch tv all at the same time!

Good me ain't I Wink

YouHaveNoPowerOverMe · 15/09/2011 19:23

Oh and all that while sat on the sofa. Grin

EmpressOfTheFucknuggetOceans · 15/09/2011 19:27

I only iron DD's school shirts and DP's work stuff. DP bribes me with chocolate.

YouHaveNoPower, tell me about your steam press.....

mumofbumblebea · 15/09/2011 20:43

well ironing done...just about 30 hours later than originally planned Blush
i would also like to hear about this steam press

OP posts:
YouHaveNoPowerOverMe · 15/09/2011 20:49

It was from Argos! Very shiny! I get through a full load of ironing in about 20mins. Probably less if I wasn't MNing. Blush

It fits on me coffee table do I can sit on sofa while doing the clothes!
This last couple weeks no one has worn a creased item of clothing, unlike never having a single piece ironed previously.

I have burned my self a few times though. Grin

And on that note, gonna make me a cup
Of tea, get the steam press out and watch Torchowood!

Know how to live the high life me!Wink

pointythings · 15/09/2011 21:26

'Iron' should only ever, ever be a noun, and not anything else. OK, I'll make an exception for 'Element in the Periodic Table'.
