And to ask why there are so many odd threads on mn at the mo (rubbish in bras, sil taking newborn baby etc etc)? Is it the full moon?

No, not really.

MNHQ posted on it that it was a troll and warned of imminent deletion. Personally I thought it had developed to be quite funny - more a spoof than a troll so seemed a bit OTT

Aw thats a shame, it would have been a good candidate for Classics. I think you're right Grimma it definately fell into the category of harmless/spoof trolling rather than malicious trolling.
