Invited out with work colleagues this evening. Really really want to go but.......

I worked sunday evening
worked monday evening.
working tomorrow evening.
Then I am going away for a week (without family!!!!!!))

So would it be unreasonable toditch the DDs this evening?

I'm feeling it probably would. But I want to go.

joruth · 13/09/2011 17:03

....poor you...decisions...I think you know!!!

AbbyAbsinthe · 13/09/2011 17:10

I personally think that YABU. And I'm a big fan of freedom without the kids.

CurrySpice · 13/09/2011 17:11

Who will the DDs be at home with?

KittyFane · 13/09/2011 17:12

(Obviously only if you have a babysitter/ DP :o )

Go!!!

HairyGrotter · 13/09/2011 17:12

Eeeek hate those moral decisions. How old are your DD's?

AtYourCervix · 13/09/2011 17:16

DDs 13 and 15 would be at home with DH.

I also need to track down some trainers for DD2 which would involve driving back into town (where I've already been today, then home, then back again for evening out - 15 miles each way)

I won't go but I still want to. and DD2 is not in a good mood and is going to whinge and moan and grumble all evening.

Working late means I see them in the morning before they go to school at 8 - I don't get home before 10.15 after they are in bed.

I just think.... they might be missing you a bit if you've been working and then going away.

squeakytoy · 13/09/2011 17:20

Go! They are teens, their father is there with them.... they dont need you to put them to bed or feed them :)

Ragwort · 13/09/2011 17:22

I wish I had your stamina Grin to even think about going out when I was late ............ I bet you end up staying home but the DDs ignore you and just go on Facebook (or whatever teenage girls do) all evening !

HairyGrotter · 13/09/2011 17:22

Jesus, at their age, every moment NOT seeing my parents was bliss.

Ragwort · 13/09/2011 17:22

I mean working late Blush ..............

AtYourCervix · 13/09/2011 17:27

not working late today Rag - hence feeling morally obliged to spend quality time fighting with my children as I will only see them for an hour tomorrow morning - then going away thursday (FOR A WHOLE WEEK OFF!!! WHOOO HOOOOO!!!!)

OP posts:
KittyFane · 13/09/2011 18:07

I know you've said you're not going but I take back my 'GO!' if you are going away THIS Thursday - are you working late tomorrow? You wouldn't see them at all!!

anewyear · 13/09/2011 19:17

GO...

AtYourCervix · 13/09/2011 19:38

I didn't go. I have been a good mother (for once) been to get some trainers for D2 and a bottle of Wine for me.

joruth · 14/09/2011 09:35

sounds like the best option!!! they might not need you to do stuff for them...but they still need you! Enjoy your week off!!!!
