To buy a treadmill?!

I've taken up running and have been doing a mile every other day for about 2 weeks, I now have a sore knee and achey lower back. I have the right shoes and have been stretching so I reckon it might be down to pounding the pavement.. I've heard treadmills are much easier on the joints, would it be unreasonable to buy one seeing as they are about £300?!

I've had mine nearly 4 years, and I still use it, and love it. We paid really big money and got a semi commercial one (like you'd find in a gym), and it was well worth the money. I do enjoy running outside when the weather is tolerable, but because I generally run after the children are in bed, outside in the dark isn't my favourite! Ours is programmable, and I can do lots of different kinds of interval training, both running and walking. I love that I don't have to drive anywhere, and I can squeeze a quick run in even when I'm pressed for time.

As long as you're motivated to keep using it, do it!

Buy a bike instead and go cycling. Much betetr for your joints.
