to be really pissed off with timewasters?

I've had a couple of ads up on gumtree for a couple of months now and I am sick of people replying and then either not turning up to collect the stuff or just cancelling last minute.

Latest example was this morning. A woman phoned to say she would like to collect the girls clothes I'm selling and would be at my house in half an hour. So I get the clothes folded and in a bag and she phones back to say she's not going to bother coming now. I don't see what could have changed in the 10 minutes between both calls to me.

This is about the 5th time this has happened and I know people are entitled to change their mind but I'm really fucked off it keeps happening.

Anyway I needed to have a rant about that but AIBU to just take the clothes to the charity shop now because I've had my fill of inconsiderate arseholes?

Take them to the charity shop! Then a good cause will actually benefit from your stuff. I don't really bother with gumtree for things like clothes, would rather a charity got the help.

I know, why do people do it? We wanted to sell a car on eBay and the amount of time wasters was ridiculous

At least she phoned back to say she wasn't coming after all - perhaps someone promised her a lift and backed out or she suddenly realised she couldn't actually lug a big bag of stuff on the bus, or the tenner for the cab she could have sworn was in her purse had gone when she checked... better to let you know than just leave you hanging...

At least that one person did phone back but she was the last straw I suppose. I'm taking them to the charity shop now and be done with it.
