To expect an indian summer

Got some big parties coming up - bbq's, in my dreams - which I'm hosting. The garden furniture has barely been used this 'summer' and tbf, we deserve a late blast of hot sunshine, balmy days...

However, YABU to expect one

We used to have them years ago, so fingers crossed!

I don't think this summer's been too bad though. I'm sure most of the summer was really nice. I've certainly put plenty of washing out on the line Hmm and it's been too hot to do the garden.

Perhaps I've just forgotten all the rain, storms, etc!

Bloodymary · 07/09/2011 09:43

Well why not, we had the first part of Summer in April!!!

diddl · 07/09/2011 09:47

Expect??!!

I was hoping!

Was lovely here yesterday & I spent most of the day in shorts & t shirt.

But very blustery & Autumnal today.

OK for BBQ-with coats on & everything battened down!

DP's job is weather dependent so follows it obsessively. Afraid it's going to be storms and gales, and then a frozen winter..

springydaffs · 07/09/2011 10:15

nooooooooo Lindsay!!! NO NO NO

(I can't cope)

Having said that, his motto is 'fucking met office, I could look out the window and do a better job.'

Last two years we've been away first week of Sept and had lovely weather...

I started counting my chickens for this year but think it's a no go.

just had the last of our giant celebrations, and we got in from the garden at 11.30pm - admittedly, I changed out of my shorts as it got bitter colder

thank you very very much for that very kind liferaft that bobbed in my heart Lindsay
