Every time I try to do something 'official' or grown-up I get it fucking wrong.

Book a holiday - manage to book double the flights

Need an official tax thing - nowhere to be found

Renew a railcard - manage to freeze my bank account and be investigated by the fraud people.

Newest crapness is buying car insurance. Worked OK. All booked - only I just put the wrong month in the box and now am insured from October, not September.

I am ridiculous and incompetent. I give up.

Awww.... Seepage, do you need some ? I managed to use about 20x too much glue to repair DS's "Man of the Match" trophy today (which I broke by sweeping off kitchen counter onto floor). I have to return it in good condition next week. Made DS's room stink badly & won't surprise me if the repair doesn't work

Don't know. I am an adult, I am reasonably intelligent, I hold down a professional, repsonsible job. I just have major issues with 'real life' stuff. Why can't I do it? Surely it's not normal to be so useless?

Paul Erdős was notoriously useless at real life, too. Didn't stop him from being one of the finest minds of the 20th century.

i have a degree in IT yet still managed to order 15Kgs of muesli by mistake once lol

maybe that's it. Maybe I'm a real genius type and shouldn't be expected to deal with things like putting the washing on at the right temperature or cooking or Bills.

seepage, I suspect its the fact that you're probably putting the washing on at the right temperature, cooking and paying bills simultaneously that's causing you to slip up on occasion, as it does to us all... Don't give yourself a hard time!

I have to point out that I don't do cooking or cleaning at all. DH does it. I have trouble doing the basics. and then get most of that wrong.

Ahh, in that case leave it all to him then. That's what DH does to me and I let him because it's more efficient than me sorting it out after he's made a mess of something!
