AIBU to think romance is dead when....

despite searching the undersink and understairs cupboard...... and my general fondness for all things candlelit... I CAN NOT FIND A CHUFFING CANDLE ANY WHERE IN THE HOUSE..... (other than one in the shape of the number 6 which is hardly romantic.....).... I'm old and fat and wrinkly and need candle light.... Oh well, I will now settle down with a cup of horlicks and my nice wholesome dressing gown and a nice quite game of sudoko......

Eh?

AuntieMonica · 29/08/2011 19:51

it's vanilla scented so if you can smell burnt cauliflower it's my dinner it'll soon go

purplepidjin · 29/08/2011 19:52

Yabu

You need decent light to see the numbers

SouthernFriedTofu · 29/08/2011 19:54

put the number 6 candle in to a coloured vase of some sort.

BibiBlocksberg · 29/08/2011 19:55

I always say, the romance goes out of the window when the unbridled farting starts :)

Tchootnika · 29/08/2011 19:56

put the number 6 candle in to a coloured vase of some sort.
... or whittle it into the shape of a lovely swan.

SouthernFriedTofu · 29/08/2011 20:09

I second the swan idea, and the not farting idea.

Does that help you OP with your night of passoin?

Tchootnika · 29/08/2011 20:11

Surely chucking the sudoku would help with any night of passion.
Or am I just horribly old fashioned and naive?

Actually I take back what I just said about the sudoku.
I admit it, I'm jealous, cos i can't do them.

PicaK · 29/08/2011 20:17

You need to do an IKEA run.

Personally I think romance is dead when DH texts you from his weekend away with DS to update me on the colour and texture of DS's poo..... I used to get missives about how much he missed me.

mo3d · 29/08/2011 20:18

I think the OP must have taken your advise and be whittling that candle Tchoo.

I hope he's worth the effort!!

EduStudent · 29/08/2011 21:31

Burn the sudoku, bask in its glow.

SarahStratton · 29/08/2011 22:34

I hate suduko because I cant do it and the DDs can

Tchootnika · 29/08/2011 22:38

I hope OP has been happily whittling.
Maybe she could turn the sudoku into some nice origami waterlilies to surround the swan...

YankNCock · 29/08/2011 22:40

I couldn't do sudoku until I got an app on my phone for it. Still can't seem to do them on paper, but I can do really hard ones on the screen!

flipflapdoodle · 30/08/2011 06:29

Thank you, will try a candle whittling in future, although I quite like blazing sudoko idea...... Grin

Who were you expecting to buy the candles? If you have run out and not replaced them then you only have yourself to blame, y'know!

I have candles everywhere and a boxful in the cupboard but rarely set them alight (3yo in the house) - romance may be dead here too! Grin
