to think I have a very boring life

Some posters are on here every other day with some altercation or other. Seems they can't step outside their front door without a confrontation. AIBU in thinking I must be SOOOOOOOOOO boring because I seem able to navigate my way through life without locking horns with every other adult I meet.
Or am I just a bit of a hippy?
Peace maaaannn Grin

hi there, i'm obv in your growing minority (oxymoron Hmm) i haven't had a fight with a neighbour/family member/bus driver for so long!

maybe it's 'cos i'm an anti-social cunt who spends all her social life on the 'net Wink Grin

Morloth · 17/08/2011 09:56

Nah, you just don't have an active enough imagination.

I reckon most of the posts on MN are made up.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/08/2011 09:58

I did call a cyclist who nearly ran me and DD over on a pedestrian crossing a muppet the other day Blush does that count?

choclatelickurs · 17/08/2011 09:59

or they are fantasists and liars lol

AuntieMonica · 17/08/2011 09:59

did they hear you, hobnobs?

usualsuspect · 17/08/2011 10:01

I think some posters just like a bit of drama

Mountains out of molehills springs to mind

I just wander through life oblivious to all around me mostly

queenmaeve · 17/08/2011 10:01

Me too. No ones ever tutted at me or my 5 dc's. I really should be a prime target. I am dying for someone to say 'why do you have so many dc'. Even in the play park we never get to have confrontations with anyone. Its just not fair. Dh and mil aren't much help either. Bloody nice people. He obviously gets it from her. You'd think at least once they could pick a fight.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/08/2011 10:02

Auntie he looked a bit youn doubt he'd even heard of the muppets Grin

AuntieMonica · 17/08/2011 10:04

it doesn't count then Grin

we've had 5 family birthdays in the past 3 weeks and not one fall out over gifts or parties

maybe we just don't care enough Wink

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/08/2011 10:06

I am clearly living my life with my head in the clouds. I just think beyond the posters that are trolling making it up some people genuinely go about their lives itching for confrontation.

5 DCs Shock i wish i'd had the courage to have more DCs Sad maybe i should pick a fight with my very easy going DH about that

usual i like drama, i like moles, i like hills. Grin

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 17/08/2011 10:11

Queen I think people who have 5 DC's are weird I mean 5 it's ridiculous Grin

FoundWanting · 17/08/2011 10:16

So glad I found this. i have been feeling as though I am somehow failing to fulfil my civic duty because I have never had any sort of confrontation with a random stranger.

I get on with all my family and DH's. Sad Even the ones who I see rarely/have little in common with. There have been times when I have disagreed with their opinions or even their way of doing things, but I have never had a screaming row in the street.

I know I am lacking in some fundamental aspect. But what? And how do I change? It is clearly unhealthy for my DCs to be parented by someone whose normal interaction with strangers consists of, "Morning. Lovely day."

Illegitimate · 17/08/2011 10:20

I have a dull life, embellishment is your friend

I took the baby with me to buy the paper this morning, this old man with a dog nodded at me and smiled at the baby as we passed.

The dirty fucking pedo came onto my child and his rabid dog wasn't on a lead!. Am rounding up a mob as we speak

piano10 · 17/08/2011 10:25

Dont call it boring , call it peaceful...

usualsuspect · 17/08/2011 10:26

I'm going to see my mum today ,I may start a thread about how she feeds me cherry scones when she clearly knows I like plain scones better

AuntieMonica · 17/08/2011 10:28

am now expecting queen to pull me up over the shocked face i put in my reply re; 5 DCs

i meant an envy face - but am a muppet

sorry queen

Morloth · 17/08/2011 10:30

It is kind of like an extreme case of 'I should have said...'

tethersend · 17/08/2011 10:30

The crackhead who is a permanent fixture at the station round the corner shouts abuse at everyone (including me) who passes him.

Funnily, enough, I'm pretty sure he is the one being unreasonable, so haven't felt the need to start a thread about it.

ElectricSoftParade · 17/08/2011 10:34

I have a dull life but mostly enjoy it.

For the past couple of days I have dragged my children enjoyed blackberry picking. It was very quiet in the woods and we all have stained nails but lots of blackberries. We made a crumble last night and we all liked it very much.

Today we are going over to Brighton to meet friends at a park for a picnic. Then we will catch the train home. Lovely.

pinkthechaffinch · 17/08/2011 11:22

waits for

queenmaeve · 17/08/2011 16:34

Oh thank you hob nob my very first insult! Shame its not face to face but it'll do.
Aunty, prime example of me not even noticing what face you posted! Maybe thats my problem, people could be insulting me and I'm just not noticing! Grin

queenmaeve · 17/08/2011 16:36

My feckin father out there weeding my garden. Is he trying to insinuate (sp?) that I have so many dc I can't weed my own feckin garden. I'm going to go out there and have a go at him.
