DD 6 months old is being quiet for the first time all day. Is there anything in them that would be particularly bad if she gums it?

yes the crystal if she swallows them

Sidge · 10/08/2011 21:59

Er, yes.

They swell up in contact with fluids so not especially safe if she swallows any.

I know it's a bit old fashioned but could you not give her a teething ring instead?

rushofbloodtothefeet · 10/08/2011 22:00

Have you seen how much nappies swell when they are sodden - do you want her stomach to do that?

try putting a damp flannel in the freezer, mine loved that.

LolaRennt · 10/08/2011 22:05

sounds gross unlike a nappy obviously, but that would probably work, thanks randommess

Presumably she is teething. Have you tried something cold? - chilled carrot sticks are good, or a damp flannel chilled in the freezer
