Let?s show the police forces, fire service and paramedics we support them and are thinking of them putting their lives at risk whilst these animals are running loose! Finally thanks to all those hard working people like me who are paying for the destruction they are causing through our taxes.

Support the emergency services . . . by joining a Facebook page?

Gimme fucking strength

I know.

I'm afraid that's how far we've sunk, though. Confused

might be interested in this.

The "stoppa coppa" society was founded on Mothering Sunday 1980, andAll you have to do to be a member is to stop policemen and say to them: ?Excuse me, Officer, I just want you to know we appreciate you; without you we would have chaos. Live up to your high calling.? (or words to that effect).

Telling the individual officers that (as a sort of random act of kindness) will have an impact much greater than anything on FB.

What the actual fuck? Stoppa coppa is bollocks I am afraid. Apart from that, what about the fire and ambulance services?
I am feeling in such a shitty mood today, that's just cheered me right up.
Do you have to use those actual words?

EdithWeston · 10/08/2011 14:09

Thanking the emergency services in person doesn't sound like bollocks to me.

I'd never heard of this organisation before today, but had thought that some MNers might be interested to know of its existence.

Apologies for misreading the audience so badly.

I think that Stoppa Coppa is a good idea. Not sure if I'd be brave enough to actually do it, as police always look to me a bit too busy and important to approach unless in an emergency. Maybe thats why people prefer to use Facebook or other media instead. But thanking people for what they do is never a bad thing. I work as a carer and appreciate any thanks or appreciation I get. I don't get a lot of it and I don't do the job for thanks but never the less I am grateful when I get it. Sorry to hear about your DD Kittens
