Had just clicked on it then got a message saying it didn't exist anymore!

OP posts:
Memoo · 07/08/2011 22:44

It was a troll.

Rhinestone · 07/08/2011 22:45

Oh. Still school holidays eh?

OP posts:
caughtinanet · 07/08/2011 22:45

Was it a troll - I assumed it was a different take on the co sleeping debate.

Portofino · 07/08/2011 22:47

troll or thread about a thread, it was very distasteful and alway going to end most unpleasantly.

ScrambledSmegs · 07/08/2011 22:51

Shame, scottishmummy was making me giggle.

Can never take stuff like that thread seriously as it always screams bored 14 yr old to me!

caughtinanet · 07/08/2011 22:55

I know everyone always blames the school holidays but how bored does a 14 year old need to be to decide to make up posts on a parenting forum? How many 14 year olds have even heard of parenting fora?

Portofino · 07/08/2011 22:58

I don't believe most trolls on here are bored teenagers at all.

Portofino · 07/08/2011 22:59

Most trolls seem to know exactly how to tick the "outrage" boxes. Your average 14 yo would just look silly.

worraliberty · 07/08/2011 22:59

Of course they're not kids...just regs abusing the name change function

caughtinanet · 07/08/2011 23:02

I think you're right worra - in that case troll isn't really the right description, not sure what the best one would be.

rumpleteaser · 07/08/2011 23:03

I was just thinking the same thing caughtinanet.

Whatmeworry · 07/08/2011 23:04

So.....would you breastfeed someone else's baby then :o

Wet- nursing was very common once, don't know when it died out.

rumpleteaser · 07/08/2011 23:17

I struggled to bf my own baby never mind anyone elses!

ScrambledSmegs · 07/08/2011 23:19

Blimey, that's my wrists slapped then. OK, not bored teenagers, just posters who may be regulars out for a wind-up with the maturity of bored teenagers.

I have met a wet nurse (in another country) and as it was a completely regular thing there so it seemed normal to me too. It's all down to circumstances and culture, isn't it?

worraliberty · 07/08/2011 23:20

Oh I think troll is still a fair description caughtinanet

I think most trolls are regs because as someone said, they normally know which buttons to push.

ScrambledSmegs · 07/08/2011 23:20

PS No, I wouldn't, unless it were a completely unlikely matter of life or death of course.

simpson · 07/08/2011 23:24

probably the same troll as last night about insisting on going private to deliver baby, NHS were crap etc etc etc

gallicgirl · 07/08/2011 23:28

When people have been saying trolls are out because it's the school holidays, I thought you all meant it was the mothers misbehaving for kicks rather than the kids.

Blush

Suppose mothers are too busy in holidays.......

simpson · 07/08/2011 23:52

gallicgirl Grin Grin

Bohica · 08/08/2011 00:03

I take school holiday trolls to be reg's staying up later & drinking more wine than normal & their little cliques posting obvious threads to cause chaos.

Hmm, a child & parenting parking thread may be next, Oh, Oh, how about a leaving my child asleep in the car whilst I unload shopping/pay for petrol thread.

SophieRMumsnet · 08/08/2011 10:49

We deleted that thread because we had some serious doubts that it was genuine and didn't want to waste your precious posting time.

bringmesunshine2009 · 08/08/2011 10:55

I thought it was SIL of the woman who posted about the co sleeping seeking vengence :)

Made a point I guess, if is so right on to co sleep with someone else's baby why not whip a boob out and BF it and all.

pigletmania · 08/08/2011 12:02

Troll or not there is nothing wrong with discussing different topics. Me I do t know how to name change can anybody help
