Congratulations! and yes boast all you want. I'd be stopping people in the street :)

It's not like winning the pools. It means she worked very hard and is something to be very proud of.

Nothing wrong with boasting about that! You must be so proud, and ditto to the comment about stopping people in the street.

khaliwali · 01/08/2011 17:23

Congratulations and please deck anyone who mutters anything about degrees being easier. A first is a massive achievement.

catgirl1976 · 01/08/2011 18:00

MissPenteuth · 01/08/2011 18:01

Boast away, you should be very proud of her. She must be thrilled :)

pawsnclaws · 01/08/2011 18:04

I got a first - it's one of my happiest memories. I phoned my mum and she had to put the phone down on me because she was sobbing. Then my dad rang back, and couldn't talk for crying either Smile.

Be very proud of her. They absolutely do not come easy.

FreudianSlipper · 01/08/2011 18:05

wonderful! congratulations to your daughter and celebrations for your both

DontAskMeSums · 01/08/2011 18:20

Go for it!
And get it splashed all over a T shirt too!

itisnearlysummer · 01/08/2011 21:03

Congratulations to your DD.

I got a first too and I was one of 3 in my large cohort.

It's not easy to do and it means she worked hard and achieved consistently, all the way through.

You should be very proud of her, as she should of herself.

What is she planning on doing next?

briedog · 01/08/2011 22:49

You most certainly can boast, congratulations to your DD and to you, musicians need a fair bit of prodding in the early stagesWink
