To be hacked off at insurance hard sell

Just had a call from a well known nationally advertised insurance company.

They sent me a quote for house insurance for £235, then they call me today "If you book with *** now with me today I can reduce that to just £175"

Me: I need to look at what your policy is offering compared to my current insurers.

Them "get your policy out"

Me "No time right now not convenient".

Them: "The offer is only available if you book on this call right now"

Me: I don't know what I am buying, no thanks"

Them sneering "You don't want to save £60"

Me: No thanks, I don't appreciate the hard sell and wont spend £175 blind thank you.

This is a national company, sounds like a proper con to me.

Oh I love the sneery "you don't WANT to save money..."

It's just begging for the reply "No. I like to waste money. I've got so much of it that I wipe my arse on it. Bye now."

Smile at Magnificent. Not sure if I am allowed to name them to shame them of if that would get the thread pulled.

Certainly name and shame them. You're not saying anything that isn't true, are you?

Worst that can happen is the thread gets pulled

Was it the AA?

Not the AA Magnificent and yes I was pretty much gobsmacked.

Anyway I am off to Cover my Castle Wink
