To leave the DCs to lock up tomorow?

Tomorow the DCs are going to their dad's house for the weekend (they go alt. weeks). He picks them up at 1pm.

The thing is I need to be at another town in the afternoon and will only get parked if I set off about 11am.

The DCs are 13 and 11. AIBU to leave them with a key and let their dad know that they're to look up when they leave?

He can't pick them up any earlier and the kids have been left home alone before.

I see no problem with this. Just make sure you let their dad know. Also, ask them not to go out beforehand, just in case they forget the time and dad is sat waiting.

I have left mine to lock up before. At a much younger age, even. They haven't let me down yet. I'm more likely to forget than they are Blush.

At that age I reckon there'd be no problems, get them to ring you while they're doing it
