ebay payback

I know I am but I was recently majorly messed about by an ebay buyer. Won item then refused to respond to emails, I had to take out non paying bidder action in the end.

As it was weeks after the auction before it got sorted out second chance offers to the two other high bidders were met with 'thanks but i've got one now'.

I relisted my item and got significantly less (timing thing i guess) than the other bidders were prepared to pay on the first auction.

Because they were a non paying bidder the transaction got cancelled and I didn't get to leave any feedback at all and nowhere does it show that they were an NPB.

They currently have six items for sale.... you can tell what i'm thinking right?

Non paying bidders and shill bidders need some payback if you ask me!

Ebay should be doing more to stop it. They have put too much power in the hands of the 'buyer' by not being able to drop a negative for non paying bidder and all these private listings buyers id protected is nonsene - I think a lot of the time this is used to hide stolen goods being sold and/or shill bidding.

TBH the things this person is selling look well dodgy (car parts) but no proof and theoretically it could be their own car.

I just know that ebay would crack down on me if I did do something that's my sort of luck and as it stands I have good feedback and history.

I did complain to ebay and was told it was their policy but I think an automatic neg should be received by a NPB.

eBay is shit for sellers IMO

Perhaps an alternative Ebay account would prove useful.... just saying....

they do get no payment strikes and you can if you do advanced selling form you can stop buyers with 2 non payment strikes in either 1/6/or 12 months from bidding on your stuff

I agree if there is a dispute ebay is rubbish for sellers 99% of time find in buyers favour but at least have stopped non payers leaving feedback. if you only buy you will always have 100% feedback,

we put up with it as generally you get more for your stuff than you would in local paper/ gumtree/ advert in local shop

ebay is getting quite professional and if you sell you need to be careful just as if business seller, do not increase P&P to compensate for 99p sales you just get low stars for P&P costs and ebay will then restrict your account, if you need 3.99 for item start at 3.99 the 15p insertion fee is more than coverd by getting 3.99 that starting at 99p and getting 1.76 and trying to make a pound profit on postage.

unless they email me with reason etc, i start non payment exactly 4 days after ( the earliest) ebay will then only give them another 4 days so should in theory be able to relist/ second chance within 8 days

Dh and I have an account each and over the past 4 years about 350 transactions of which I would say 3 bad selling experiences and about 10 when buying but most of that was early on when did not ask questions if unsure, so altogether ebay does work for us

It works on the whole for me to. This person just seems to be taking the mick aswell, charging £30 for postage of their items and not allowing collection so they have some bad feedback already.

I am tempted by the alternative account thing but I know I won't do it. I'll just chalk it up to experience and imagine doing it like a big wuss!

£30 for postage are they being deliver by chauffeur, the only thing that wold cost that is an outsize package over 30kg or possibly very valuable / fragile antique that go with specialist packers

I would be Sooo tempted to bid something up high and then not pay!
Agree Ebay is poor for sellers, they always find in favour of the buyer if something "goes missing", even if yoy have hundreds of sales and great feedback.

I had their address on their order details when they messed me about. They live in a very affluent area.
I think the high postage is to bolster up their sales which I thought ebay had cracked down on.

You are talking about auction wrecking. Don't do it you risk your account if you do. Why did you wait weeks to open an npb when you can open on day four?

Can you raise the point about not being able to leave public feedback on the inevitable customer service questionnaire from ebay? If enough people do that perhaps they'll reconsider. ..You could also set up a ghost account and get some manure delivered on to their drive

eBay will never reinstTe negative feedback for buyers. You could only leave. A positive, leaving a false positive results in a policy violation.

You get your account suspended if you don't pay for three items so if you do bid, open a new account ;)
