Am i unreasonable in thinking 5 years is not long for a washing machine to last? Just had repair man out and its beyond economical repair! Is an indesit.

Perhaps i just grumpy because we have had 2 TV and the boiler break in last 3 mths, car needs repairing, DS2 due in 10 weeks!

arghhhh!

YABU, but I sympathise with your many breakdowns :( Good luck with the DS!

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 26/07/2011 15:08

Was it one of there repair guys or someone you called?

starfishmummy · 26/07/2011 15:12

YANBU. I will never buy an indesit again - I reckon the one I had was made on a friday afternoon by the factory cleaner as it was nothing but trouble. But he's probably right in the sense that you can proabaly buy a nice new one for less than the cost of the repair.

starfishmummy · 26/07/2011 15:15

probably

dribbleface · 26/07/2011 16:23

was a independent bloke. can be fixed but part was £140 so not worth it when you factor in labour. bit sad really but I'm quite excited about getting a new one!

I have a tricity bendix. 7 wonderful years of hard-working service! Just two small repairs, caused by my daughter's habit of leaving crap in her pockets.

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 26/07/2011 16:46

Was asking cause if phone the makers I know with mine you can get an all included price plus for just slightly more it will cover all parts and all labour for a year. Mine will even give me a new machine if they can't fix it.

dribbleface · 26/07/2011 16:49

thanks. think a new one is in order.

My 5 year old indesit has given up the ghost too, except I am so happy because I have hated the bloody thing for years.

I am off to buy a bosch one instead tonight.

dribbleface · 26/07/2011 16:54

We have a bosch one at work (day nursery) and it's been great. I'm also washing machine shopping later!
