The weather forecast promised wall to wall sunshine this weekend even the newpapers were full of it. Well I'm in my slippers and cardi and theres no chance of a BBQ! Is it just a ploy to get us to stock up on burgers and salad perhaps?

It's in Sussex and has been all day. Blue skies, fluffy white clouds, picnic lunch.

It was in Surrey today. Sun splitting the stones in Chessington World of Hell Adventures

notimetotidy · 24/07/2011 19:25

Summer is here! Just had to come in from the back garden because the setting sun was so warm. Now watching The Royal with a lovely cooling vodka and coke!

thebird · 24/07/2011 19:28

Now very :( as also in the south and after a promising start it's just been grey today and yesterday!

Where in sussex Goblinchild? My friend and I have found a caravan in Rye for £173 for 4 nights. Starting Aug 1st. We are hoping to book tomorrow as looks a lovely area. Camber sands looks fantastic so we are hoping for a nice beach day. Grin

Here in Hampshire its been sunny and cloudy but nice and warm. Few threatening rain clouds but they've held off and gone away.

HarrietJones · 24/07/2011 19:30

I've got summer'

JemimaMuddledUp · 24/07/2011 19:31

Lovely here in Wales, we have spent the day on the beach and swimming in the sea.

duckdodgers · 24/07/2011 19:31

Well it must be our summer here in the West of Scotland as for a change its been gorgeous all day, SUNNY, 22oC, lovely!!

WheresTheCat · 24/07/2011 19:31

It's been gorgeous here all day, but the sea mist is in now and it's all gone a bit grey :(
But it's warm and therefore = summer!

michglas · 24/07/2011 19:32

it's been in Glasgow for once :)

Goblinchild · 24/07/2011 19:33

Rye is a lovely town. Especially if you want historical and interesting.

thebird · 24/07/2011 19:35

How frustrating! Usually we get the best of it in the south coast but I guess the suns shining anywhere but here by the sound of things!

Opc0904 · 24/07/2011 19:36

Can I ask where you found your caravan in Rye youarekidding? Would love to do the same this summer, Camber Sands sounds great, hope the sun shines for you!

LadyOfTheManor · 24/07/2011 19:40

It's dire in Wales, has been for weeks.

QueenofJacksDreams · 24/07/2011 19:45

I'm in the east midlands and it is boiling even now Angry ITS TOO BLEDDY HOT.

youarekidding · 24/07/2011 19:57

thebird where are you? I'm south coast and thought today was OK ish. Wink

opc parkholidaysuk is where we found ours. It is an extremely cheapy 4 night deal though. They have lots of sites very close by and some 1-2 week deals too. I googled 'cheap caravan holidays' Blush Grin

Thanks goblinchild Rye does look lovely. The caravan site has a children adventure park, small indoor pool and some evening entertainment but low key. We fancy a nice day in Rye and I think there's a castle nearby and a lovely church? We thought a bus ride in, sightseeing with the promise of cake in a cafe would lure the DC's in. Grin The site is on/in the nature reserve at Rye harbour so lots of walking and picnics to be had - weather permitting Grin

JemimaMuddledUp · 24/07/2011 20:14

LadyoftheManor: what part of Wales? See post above about spending the day on the beach and swimming in the sea, definitely not dire here!

peppapighastakenovermylife · 24/07/2011 20:16

Where on earth are you Jemima? Sure it's not New South Wales? Grin

South west wales here and dire - we have been wearing jumpers all day!

handsomeharry · 24/07/2011 20:18

Lovely on the east coast of Scotland. Very sunny and warm.

WhatDidISayRoy · 24/07/2011 20:19

frenchmans?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/07/2011 20:29

beautiful here too :) not looking bad at all this week. Temps not quite so high as they were looking a few days ago and some eastern parts may see a bit of damp gloom wednesday. But, overall a distinct improvement from the sogginess we've had recently.

JemimaMuddledUp · 24/07/2011 20:48

Cardigan Bay! We were on the beach at Ynyslas all day and the sea was lovely and warm. The car thermometer said it was 24.

mankyscotslass · 24/07/2011 20:49

Lovely afternoon/evening here too! Tameside, Greater Manchester.
