The biggest I've seen is 6ft sq, but I was hoping for something larger for my dc to crawl around on that I could just roll out when he is playing/ rolling around the floor, as people wear their shoes in the house. Also

I got some large 1mx1m foam interlocking squares off ebay which we just fit together for dd to play on then stack to aside when she is finished. I paid about £12 for 8 squares

Ikea have huge ones with roads/buildings/different scenes.

The baby catalogue do some good ones

I also love the interlocking foam squares. you can make it as big as you want and easy to adapt to different sizes/shapes and very colourful. I've really used mine - especially on hard floors - they are great.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 13/07/2011 23:36

wtf Hmm at other posters.. weird.

Get something like this and then if you want to make it bigger just make another one.

Failing that just get a king size duvet and stick that on the floor with an interesting cover on it?

begonyabampot · 13/07/2011 23:42

think it's because the thread doesn't really belong in IABU - some posters have being taking umbrage recently.

LauraIngallsWilder · 13/07/2011 23:44

I agree yabvu
When mine were babies (which was only 8 years ago) the biggest playmats seemed to be about 1m square.
6ft square is huge!!!!!!

People wear shoes, shoes might have germs on them - germs are good for your baby!!!
I think you are being precious sorry - in a few months your baby will be walking and picking up all sorts of muck, you cant roll out a mat to protect them from the high street................

AuntiePickleBottom · 13/07/2011 23:49

there really is no point, but get a double sized duvet with this cover

Really? Then stop moaning about it, report the thread and get it moved to chat? No need for weird postings.

As for the protecting thing, tbh, we had hard floors and the foam mats made a big difference to the number of egg-sized bumps on DS when he started walking.
