About ten months ago my little boys dad reappeared after not seeing him for 3 years. Anyway over the last few weeks the calls at bedtime have stopped again and if my son didnt call him im not sure we would hear from him. He does see him on a saturday but only for about an hour and never really takes him out or does anything with him on his own. Im tempted not to ring him anymore but then my son would be really upset and thats wrong as well!! Advice please ...

'Hes 49 this year'

hahahaha Grin

Whatever the ages of your DS or his dad are, I would leave the ball in his court.

If he wants to see your son he'll make the effort, just tell your DS you're not sure when his dad will be round and distract him onto nicer things?

cuteboots · 01/07/2011 13:51

agentzigzag- I really must not drink too much wine in the evenings and then come to work the next day! hee hee. I will leave the ball in his court as its starting to do my head in a bit

I can understand why you don't want to upset your DS, but it's not you upsetting him, and don't let the bloke make you feel like it's your responsibility to sort him out.

worraliberty · 01/07/2011 13:57

Omg hahahaha! Grin

agentzigzag-I think hes losing interest as I made it clear Im not interested in him and he unfortunately thought he could come back to a ready made family!

Cant you leave it so that if your DS asks to phone, then phone, otherwise dont push it?

cuteboots · 01/07/2011 14:54

cookcleanerchaufferetc- I think thats a good idea as over the past week my son hasnt asked to call him and even said last night Im far too busy and if he cant bother calling me then his loss!
