to expect a 4* hotel to include free Wi-Fi

Away with work.

Nice 4* (but it is a chain). I have had to pay for internet access despite the room itself costing a small fortune.

Was I expecting too much. If I'm paying I'm a travelodge / spend the rest on a posh restaurant/ decent cocktail kind of girl.

Well, no, YANBU. But generally speaking, if the description of the hotel doesn't include something like that, I go with the assumption it doesn't have it.

Most hotels dont include free wifi.. no matter how many stars they have... unfortunately.

Groovee · 29/06/2011 18:36

Travel Lodge were cheap for internet while the express by holiday inn and the holiday inn were around £15!!!

But the only place I've ever had free wifi was a 5* in lanzarote!

The 4* ones are the so and so's that make you pay extra for it. I find its more likely to be included in cheaper ones. It's just not right. I now make sure wifi is included before I book and point blank refuse to stay anywhere that doesn't.

YANBU I'm always astounded by how much you can pay and not have it included... Heard a rumour that some hotels restricted it because of the effect it had on pay per view porn which makes them money but if that was the case I'm sure they could be cleverer about it rather than assume we're all using it to get our rocks off

Sadly the person that handles my travel didn't check.

Work will pay though ('cos I'm doing work ..... can't you tell!)
