We're happy with our tickets too. Just wish we'd got more. (But then we'd be worrying about the cost of them!) Not going to ever go to the Olympics again.

Actually, I think they didn't realise how over-subscribed the first round would be so it was a bit of a balls up. Second time round we were limited to 3 applications.

To be honest Scousy, I'm not sure what you think they should have done instead? If they'd just sold them first come, first served, like most concert tickets are sold, that would have also resulted in a lot of disappointment too.

The only way to ensure that most applicants are sucessful is to charge such high prices that it's not so over-subscribed. Then you'd be complaining about how only tory toffs can afford to go.

I don't mean to be a prick, but I don't understand your thread title nor OP in order to decide whether YABU!

I got a couple of tickets for one of the less popular events & know other people who did as well. I've heard many say that it wasn't a fair system but that's lotteries for you. 'Chance' is the name of the game and disappointment comes with the territory. Ticket demand was high and it would have been even more unfair to run it on a 'Take That' basis, i.e. all sold out in the first five minutes.

I am happy with the tickets I have and I am self centered [smug emoticon]

we will be watching on TV unless extra tickets become available next year, but we will go and cheer on the marathon then watch the closing ceromony on one of the big screens in a london park.

We got jack and didn't bother with the second round. I only know of one person who got tickets from the first ballot for two events which is pretty poor as I know a few people . So therefore I think YANBU.
