T think that you just don't DO this?

Minor..it's minor...I know it is....but I have o know the general thoughts of others.

I baked a cake tonight as a dry run for DDs brthday party next week....turned it out...PERFECT chocolate sponge...told DH that I would decorate it in the morning....so cream would be frsh etc.

He just wandered in "Cakes nice"

He's taken a fucking CHUNK off the corner and desicrated its perfection...which I was going to decorate tomorrow.
I know it's minor...I have sliced it away..right across so the cake is nw straight edged again on all sides...but I KNOW it's not as it was.

I make cakes on a semi regular basis and they're cut and eaten as a family...would you take a chunk off someone's freshly baked cake? He also TURNED IT OVER after taking his corner.....revealing the risen side...when I had already turned it upon taking it out of the tin....I had to turn it over again to get the flat side on top! Angry

I prbably would care but this is a practice cake!

I'm inclined to take your side just on principle cos all men are dicks as far as I am concerned tonight. But, probably, if you hadn't actually said "don't eat it", you've got to expect that he might. Even though he knew you were going to ice it tomorrow. Next time you make something for him, just have part of it yourself and tell him how tasty it was as you give it to him. e.g cup of tea (drink half of it).

Custard you've just made me burst out laughing. DD said "stop being weird and laughing at your phone!" but I can't stop chuckling. Jeez that was funny, like you couldn't keep it a secret one second longer. Grin

OP, I was going to say that yore being a bit touchy, but if he's also drunk your cider he's gone too far. Lamp him!

I'm going to bed now. To think up little ways in which I can even things up. He's going fishing next week...I may just go along and fillet his catches before he can! Or as advised have a bite of ALL his food for a week.

Here's your soup...."slurp"....here's your steak "gnash" and so on. Thank's for the advice!

YADNBU My DH does the same and it REALLY PISSES me off too! lol I baked a heart shaped cake as a farewell cake and he came and broke the pointy end of and crammed it all into his mouth!!!!!!! ARGHHHHHHH.
Ok feel better now.
Not a big issue but annoying!

DD2 (at age 3) once washed a chocolate cake I had left cooling. It had some remnants of the flour I had dusted the pan with on it that offended her sense of propriety.

I would get angry about this, my husband wouldn't do this, I suspect because he knows I'd be angry. If he's desperate for a cake he can make his own. Chopping bits off a large cake isn't on. It is the selfishness and lack of respect and affection for the person making the cake who you know wants you to leave it alone that is the issue here. I would see this as done out of spite to upset me or uncontrollable greed, neither of which are good qualities in a partner and I would be telling him this angrily.

Once when I had baked a cake with ds2 age 4 I asked him to break up the chocolate for the icing into a bowl while I was sitting on the sofa breastfeeding ds3.

He shouted through that he needed a bigger bowl, I was a bit Hmm

Then he proudly brought through the two bowls of broken up CAKE Shock
