He decided he wanted one for his birthday (August) a while back. Since then he has asked every day (a few times a day) if he can have it early. I swear he was less excited when he got his PS3!!

I did try telling him that if he didn't shut up about it I wouldn't get it, which worked for about a week, plus he knows that he now wont get anything else for his birthday. But he's just so excited. And getting on my nerves a tad

I've ordered it this morning, he doesn't know yet.

Sounds rather sweet - I would let him have it early - my DH buys his own birthday presents as I am not interested technical enough to choose his specialist cycling stuff - so if he is going on a specific cycle trip and needs it early I don't see the harm in having an early present - I know a Kindle is not exactly the same but its nice that he is so enthusiastic about something.

So long as he doesn't act like a 3 year old and throw a strop if he doesn't get a present 'on the day'. .

Give in, by all means!! I am absolutely DESPERATE for a Kindle, but between jobs, so have to wait until my first paycheck in July...I've been bugging DH for months...my bday was in May, but he's not a reader, and doesn't understand...he just sees the price tag!!
