Or should I go to a bit more proper effort and make butterfly cakes? Perhaps chocolate ones with chocolate buttercream...? Hmm

However this is all dependant on DS going to bed like A Good Boy.....

I'm going to try the Chocolate Cake tomorrow - then I shall eat it all myself!

I have a microwave fruit cake recipe which is easy peasy and tastes wonderful, so if the choc cake is as good as that I'm in for a treat!

valiumredhead · 12/06/2011 18:11

WHAT ALL IN ONE MICROWAVE CAKE????????????????????

Tell me quick! Grin

FakePlasticTrees · 12/06/2011 18:11

Oh don't - I have and it mings.

valiumredhead · 12/06/2011 18:34

Oh thank God, if it was gorgeous my waistline would not thank you! Grin

sparkle12mar08 · 12/06/2011 18:36

I love my 5 minute cake recipe - does all four of us nicely with custard! There's no way that one person could eat it all without being sick though, no matter how much you tried! (I did, I was!)

NorksAkimbo · 12/06/2011 18:39

I love it, too...perfect size for the 4 of us, and it leaves no cake behind for me to nibble at later. The key is not to leave it in too long...yum!

BertieBotts · 12/06/2011 18:40

You eat it between four?? Blush

I miss my microwave :(

valiumredhead · 12/06/2011 18:42

Ok, SOMEONE give me the recipe please! :)

NorksAkimbo · 12/06/2011 18:49

5 Minute Chocolate mug cake
4tbs self raising flour
4 tbs caster sugar
2tbs cocoa powder
1 egg
3tbs milk
3tbs sunflower oil
3 tablespoons Chocolate chips (optional...but yummy!)
small dash vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add egg and mix well. Add the milk and the oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips and the vanilla and mix again.
Put mug in microwave a cook between 3-5 minutes (I find 3 is enough). Allow to cool slightly, and tip onto a plate. Serve with cream, ice cream or custard.

I make mine right before we sit down for tea, turn it on while we're eating, and it's perfect by the time we've finished.

valiumredhead · 12/06/2011 19:02

Ooooo ta very much! Will make it tomorrow and report back with my review Grin

sodiumion · 12/06/2011 19:54

Oh god i made it tonight, turned out like rubber. Didn't have any cocoa powder so used areo drinking chocolate instead, olive oil instead of sunflower oil. Told dd i was making a bigger one for her birthday, she actually had tears in her eyes and not in a good way.

parvinparis · 20/10/2011 12:49

If I double or triple the quantities on the microwave chocolate cake, do I double or triple cooking time too? Thanks for any help!!

tryingtoleave · 20/10/2011 12:55

Ewww, that recipe has put me right off chocolate cake.

Go and cream some butter and sugar, ladies.

ZombieMonkeyBrains · 20/10/2011 13:08

I usually make it with walnut oil instead of sunflower oil. It's nice if you put a blob of peanut butter in the middle before nuking it too.

makachu · 20/10/2011 19:51

Microwave cake is much better if made with melted butter instead of oil ;) I put a bit of baking powder in too. And I make it in a bowl instead of a mug. With a big scoop of ice cream. Mmmmmmmm....

duvetdayplease · 20/10/2011 21:21

This thread can only end badly for me. I made fudge in secret today and have hidden from everyone else. I have no willpower so it is almost gone. I keep putting it in the cupboard then going back to get it again. I feel quite sick now.

Purplehonesty · 23/10/2013 13:55

Oh. My. God. I am eating this cake hot with double cream and it is amazing !!!!!
Oops this is going to be bad for my hips

LondonNightmareInGhostlyBoots · 23/10/2013 23:38

if you make it in a cereal bowl it is easy to play with the timings to give you a melty fancy pudding like centre -nuke it a bit less. nom. also apparently popping a marshmallow in before cooking is good I have not tried this yet.

Purplehonesty · 24/10/2013 06:56

That sounds good, my cup rather overflowed Grin

jellyboatsandpirates · 24/10/2013 08:21

A cake? In the microwave?! Shock May have to try that! Grin
