I mean, is this a reasonable thing for dh to blurt out in a loud and disgusted voice, glaring accusingly at ME, when we are sitting watching tv with my parents who are staying for the weekend?

It wasn't bloody me, by the way. And it stank. But it gives me two options: take the blame for a revolting stench I didn't produce, or humiliate whichever of my parents it was!

AIBU to think he should have suffered in silence, as I did?

:) This reminds me of going on school trips with young children...

My instinct is to preserve peace with guests, especially parents.

Or you could say "Really, darling, why did you say that?"

He who smelled it, dealt it. That's what you should say in these situations.Grin
