To wish I hadnt watched it but glad I did?

No-one need answer.

I just watched Waterloo Road. I couldnt switch it off.

They did it quite well.

I dont suppose its required viewing on MN though Smile

A young girl. About 15. Died of a brain tumour in her mum and dad's arms. Fell asleep and died.

She looked sick. They dont usually on the tv.

She even wore the same clothes as DD. They had the same fairy lights round her bed.

I am glad they did it properly. Not exactly right but at least better than all the crappy shite programmes that do it bollocky wrong.

Fuck it.

Dont answer. Its a stupid AIBU.

feels a bit feeble giving you hugs but sod it ((( )))). A friend of mine has a sister who died of a brain tumour, she also felt that TV depictions were usually crapola, but felt that ER's storyline on that topic was very well done, and got some sort of ?solace from watching it.

It is a bit stupid. There is no-one here you see. OH at work. Well the kids are but they are in bed.

This girl. She had two brothers. Two mixed race boys. One the age of my DS1 when DD died and one much younger like my DS2.

I couldnt turn it off.

I am glad you think they got it reasonably right. It must have been hard to watch, though.

It isn't stupid at all.I still cry at the most stupid things,nothing nearly as harrowing as a death scene.The other day I passed a music shop and in the window was a guitar identical to dp favourite.I must,ve looked like a loon to passers by...woman looking in music shop with tears rolling down face!!I think you are very courageous to have watched it especially given the similarities you describe xxx sending more virtual hugs !!

I watched it.

I thought it was pretty well done. It did have me very close to tears at the end.

MrsDeVere - it's not a stupid aibu. Are you ok, now you have seen it, but you are on your own at the moment?

I am not the only one allowed to get upset Smile. I dont expect everyone to know my story. Its nice that people remember but I am not trying to catch anyone out.

I am ok. thank you for asking. I am ok. I cried. I managed to cry for about five minutes.
I never cry. I cant.
So that was good yes?

Its been too long Mavis.

I stopped the day she was diagnosed and havent managed it since. Thats seven years.

Its not normal. Its all in there. One day I might explode and make a huge mess all over East London.

There is nothing wrong with NOT crying either.I think sometimes you hold it all inside because you know if you start it will be farking scary shite.Sorry I'm not expressing myself well.I haven't lost a child,I think that is the worst thing I can imagine on a terrible things scale,anyhow i just wanted to send support.I will stop blathering on now xxx

I think I can relate a bit.
There was a drama/thriller on BBC1 about 6 weeks ago with Jim Broadbent playing an old man with Alzheimer and Parkinson's Disease.
Reminded me so much of my dear dad that I felt very uncomfortable watching it, but couldn't tear myself away.

Crying is always good.

I didn't know your story, I think I know a bit of it now.

You know, no-one need apologise for blathering or saying the wrong thing.
I start threads on my DD everyso often.

No one has EVER said the wrong thing. Not once. Lots of people think they have or might but they never do.

Her name is BILLIE.

She would be 19 now and at uni studying law. Or dance.

I was watching Jane Eyre on Saturday. I love Jane Eyre. I was unprepared for the scene when Jane and Helen have their hair cut off and they are two little, pale and thin girls with cropped hair. I was unprepared for how painful that would be. She never lost all her hair because she had so much of it but we cut it short.

She looked beautiful but so fragile. Someone so fragile can be so strong.

I'm glad you had a bit of a cry maybe its so big you can only process a little bit at time.

I know its not exactly the same but my mum died when I was a teenager and I was so busy coping with schools and exams and growing up etc that I didn't really have the time (or possibly the inclination) to deal with what had happened. I almost had to give myself permission 7-8 years later to stop being together and to stop coping to allow the feels to trickle out.

I think it is really good that you talk/post about your DD and her loss even though it must be hard to do so.

MrsDV, I watched it and thought of you, it was beautifully acted especially with so many youngsters in it. I'm more of a lurker on here but am very aware of Billie through your posts, she was indeed a beautiful courageous girl, like her mother I think! Much love x
