Seen in the back of a car whilst I was out driving yesterday - "our grandson child's name on board"

Was IBU not to ram the car?

show bees? I have never heard of such a thing....

or, are you joking and I'm being really gullible? Blush

Cutiecat · 05/06/2011 15:46

'Nits on board' might be more of a deterrent.

hephaestus · 05/06/2011 15:48

Saw a car yesterday with Thomas the Tank Engine branded 'Jayden on Board' on one side and some kind of pink version 'Allanah on Board' on the other side.

I oughtn't poke fun really, I have vinyl pawprints all over mine to cover the dents.

EggyAllenPoe · 05/06/2011 15:50

i always think (boring sod that i am) that those stickers make your car less safe as they decrease the rear view space....(more so than the child seats themselves do)

PigeonPie · 05/06/2011 15:51

Pa used to have a beekeeping manufacturing company and used to do agricultural show sometimes with an observation hive. But he was joking as he couldn't stand the ceaseless of those signs.

He did, however, have labels which said words to the effect of 'warning live bees' which went on envelopes which had queen bees in when they were posted - used to freak the postie out! (they were in special cages with food and were quite safe!)

thefirstMrsDeVere · 05/06/2011 15:52

How about 'I'm too aspirational to have a sticker in my car' sticker? Grin

'My other car is even more ostentatiously second hand than this' (i am not sure that is a real word.

'Mumsnetters do it in Cath Kidston'

'Nest of Vipers in Transit'

thefirstMrsDeVere · 05/06/2011 15:52

Bee cages! How sweet.

weejie · 05/06/2011 15:54

I saw one in Beckengam 'Future millionaire on board'

was I wrong not to kill them?

PigeonPie · 05/06/2011 15:54

Bah - for ceaseless read crassness (sorry on iPhone)

HughManatee · 05/06/2011 15:54

'Powered by fairy dust' is fucking annoying too. Having said that, maybe DM readers' cars should have a 'Powered by self-righteous indignation' stickers.

JeremyKylesPetProject · 05/06/2011 15:56

I saw a handmade bumper sticker that said "Fat Twat Who Ain't All That on board" Some girlfriends revenge maybe?

TheFlyingOnion · 05/06/2011 16:02

a little bee snug in an envelope Smile

I'm going to get my mum and her slimming friends a "nest of vipers" sign, they blimmin need it...

I'm going to manufacture "Big Ole Judgypanys On Board" and "Grape Feeder On Board"

I am Shock at future millionaire - what kind of message is that sending to your kids??

TakeItOnTheChins · 05/06/2011 16:05

There's got to be a market for stickers that read "Driver Finds Stickers Twee And Annoying".

LolaRennt · 05/06/2011 16:06

In the USA, they get bumper stickers with 'Proud parent of an XYZ Junior High Honor Roll student' or whatever written on it... You see some cars platered in them and wonder exactly how loathed they are by parents of kids who haven't achieved as much...

Have you not seen the "my child beat up your honor student" stickers then?

Marshy · 05/06/2011 16:10

Grin @ Jeremy - you really have to say that one out loud to get the full effect. I wonder if the driver knew it was there.

"Baby On Board - Sleep Deprived Parent Liable To Swerve/Brake/Change Lane Unexpectedly - Give Wide Berth For Safety Of Self"

SkipToTheEnd · 05/06/2011 16:30

How about 'AIBU to use this parent and child space' ?

Or 'How's my driving? Biscuit'

FutureNannyOgg · 05/06/2011 16:44

It's gone too far. The signs (removable) were supposed to be there to alert the emergency services in an accident, a small baby can be missed in a wreck/pile up, but they are so misused now that it's totally meaningless.

CrapolaDeVille · 05/06/2011 16:46

I would love a 'you can crash into me because I'm driving alone'
or 'look we're fertile and we have children'

mrstimlovejoy · 05/06/2011 16:56

i had a 'tweenies fan on board' sign when dd was a toddler Grin
theres a woman at school who has
'taylor on board'
'lacey on board'
'brandon on board'
'worlds best mum on board'
'worlds best dad on board'
all stuck along the back window.i chuckle every time i see it.

york84 · 05/06/2011 17:34

Princess on board is the worse one.

FlaminGreatGallah · 05/06/2011 17:53

I could never see the point of "Baby on Board" signs I until I had a child. I now take it to mean, "knackered and possibly hormonal parent of screaming and distracting infant driving" and give them the benefit of the doubt / cut them some slack.

Then again I am only a Learner Diver and no fucker seems to show me any courtesy.

Cutiecat · 06/06/2011 00:31

Futurenannyog - that is interesting i can see why someone originally thought them up now. In the US i have seen people have stickers on the home windows to let the fire brigade know if they have pets to be rescued. Same sort of thing.

Shame the original purpose has been ruined by the princess fairy dust prats.
