I have a relative who is in a wheelchair as a result of an illness. Relative have met people in this situation who were able to claim hundreds of thousands in compensation as their condition was caused as a result of an accident. They both have same expenses but relative has hadlvery little financial assistance. Is it wrong to wish more support was available?

No its reasonable to wish there was more support. But most people in this situation haven't had compensation, so sadly its not unusual to be in this situation.
