To think DH is a bit too old for a baseball cap?

Well am I? He's 39 this year....he still wears a baseball cap a lot. Is it a bit sad looking?

He's handsome and looks younger than 39...but still...should he be sophisticating his look up a bit now?

yeah but Madam they also wear socks above the ankles with shorts. All pulled up and proud.

em anyway about your DH, you're not going to change him now and he's probably in the old enough to be sad in fashion caterory anyway so leave him me (just make sure he washes them)

Does he wear the more conventional ones, or the ones dancers etc. wear?

Goodynuff · 30/05/2011 04:12

Most every man I know wears a ball cap Confused even the Grampas Smile

allhailtheaubergine · 30/05/2011 05:17

I think he's probably too old to care about what other people think of his sartorial choices.

thriceaaka · 30/05/2011 07:36

'Spect he doesn't care what other people think. Good for him.
Penguin, what is with socks that so upsets people?? I just don't get it? Why does it matter if people wear socks with sandals? At least people who do that are usually being kind to their feet, unlike all the weird people who go around in foot/spine-deforming monstrosities and think they look good. Give me blokes (male and female Wink) in flat sandals and sock any day!

kreecherlivesupstairs · 30/05/2011 08:08

As long as he wears it forward facing he should be OK. As soon as the peak slips round the wrong way he should be decaptiated. HTH.

FakePlasticTrees · 30/05/2011 08:12

If he looks to old to play baseball, he's too old to wear a baseball cap with style. That said, he's at the tricky age, he's either going to not care about his appearance, or really care about it - which is midlife crisis territory and I'm sure you've got better things to do with your time than to deal with that.

Have you bought him any alternatives? what about a cricket hat? It's easier for grown ups to wear without looking like he's trying to be 'cool'

LynetteScavo · 30/05/2011 08:16

It all depends on the length of his hair.

You need to have short hair for a baseball cap.

Buda · 30/05/2011 08:19

DH wears baseball caps too. Has to wear something as is bald. I'd rather he wore a baseball cap than got skin cancer.

CurrySpice · 30/05/2011 08:23

My ex has started wearing a wooden beaded surfer type necklace thing. He is 52 Blush

This is the man who wouldn't wear a wedding ring when we got married because he doesn't like jewellry Hmm

AuntieMonica · 30/05/2011 08:26

YY to wearing a baseball cap instead of getting sunburnt

does your DP look like this though?

that would be a problem to me

lljkk · 30/05/2011 12:24

According to the under 30s, being over 30 is uncool in itself. So really, nothing to lose Wink.

differentnameforthis · 30/05/2011 13:43

Being in Australia keeping the sun off your head is vital in the summer months. Most men opt for baseball caps. Dh is 44 this year, don't see the problem.

I wear one too, they are the only hats that I look ok in. I am 38 this year!

Rather wear a hat than get sun burnt/sun stroke.

TrillianAstra · 30/05/2011 13:45

There is no such thing as "wearing a baseball cap with style".

diddl · 30/05/2011 13:46

"I wear one too, they are the only hats that I look ok in. I am 38 this year! "

Me too, apart from the 38Grin

fairydoll · 30/05/2011 13:46

Chavy

Deaddei · 30/05/2011 13:50

They are vile.
Dh is bald and very concerned about his head burning on the golf course so has. A wide brimmed cricket hat.
But then he has a White head and brown arms and face.
Not a good look.

MumblingRagDoll · 30/05/2011 13:50

He is Aussie btw....so its habit more than anything.

OP posts:
diddl · 30/05/2011 13:52

Well, I´d rather be chavvy than sunburnt/headachy!

Apart from being the only style that looks any way to reasonable on me, it´s the only thing I get get to fit & therefore stay on when I´m biking.

Deaddei · 30/05/2011 13:53

Even worse, MIL used to wear one which was a very bad look. 83 with thinning hair......

MumblingRagDoll · 30/05/2011 13:54

My MIL wears one too Deadye along with 80s style, metallic blue wraparound sungllasses. She's 68.

Deaddei · 30/05/2011 14:04

That is bad Mumbling.
We thought mil would be buried in hers.....Blush
