Banned from Sainsbury's

Yesterday I was at my local Sainsbury's buying a large bag of Purina dog food for my loyal pet and was in the checkout queue when a woman behind me asked if I had a dog.
What did she think I had - an elephant? So, since I'm a housewife and have little to do, on impulse I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, I was starting the Purina Diet again. I added that I probably shouldn?t, because I ended up in hospital last time, but that I'd lost 2 stones before I woke up in intensive care with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.
I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so it works well and I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in queue was now enthralled with my story.) Horrified, she asked me if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no, I stepped off a curb to sniff an Irish Setter's bum and got run over by a car.
I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard.
I'm now banned from Sainsbury's.

AIBU should they allow me back?

Birdsgottafly · 26/05/2011 13:12

Most definately, YES, go in tomorrow on all fours. I am recovering from dental surgery, but it was worth the pain i'm in from laughing!

SnowieBear · 26/05/2011 13:12

I so wish that was real!

Still, gave me a giggle, especially the Irish setter bit.

strawberrymewmew · 26/05/2011 13:13

Oh, wow! That is such an amazing story! Not!

misdee · 26/05/2011 13:16

its an oldie, but a goodie

BobbaFettBountyHunter · 26/05/2011 13:17

That is so fucking funny! I convinced someone at work I was half black the other day and my dad is a massive beefy gansta type. I can't believe I pulled it off.

cheekeymonkey · 26/05/2011 13:17

Yeah, and my cat drank petrol Hmm

whoneedssleepanyway · 26/05/2011 13:18

sausagerollmodel · 26/05/2011 13:21

can't afford to be banned from Sainsbury's Envy

confuseddotcodotuk · 26/05/2011 13:22

I've not heard it before either and it made me giggle.

BTW, YABU, you should've got on all fours and started barking Wink

betterwhenthesunshines · 26/05/2011 13:24

Very funny - I'm going to try it.

In the old days when you had to sign a credit card slip, my husband used to ask for the card back so he could copy the signature. Used to make me laugh every time as the cashiers always did!!

whoneedssleepanyway · 26/05/2011 13:25

I thought it was a great post wheresthepimms, nice to have something light hearted..

LittleJennyRobyn · 26/05/2011 13:28

Gave me a giggle anyway!!

vintageteacups · 26/05/2011 13:29

I can second that pimms has had a really crap week - so she needs a good giggle.

Although when I first it, I instantly thought "ooh - pet food ins't suitable for human consumption!"

Numberfour · 26/05/2011 13:32

betterwhenthesunshines Grin at your DH!

TheMonster · 26/05/2011 13:34
Grin I wonder if the Purina Diet would actually work...
pigletmania · 26/05/2011 14:21

Are you my mum! She was banned from Sainsboros for opening a packet of fishcakes eating then, then deciding they were nice, then putting them back Blush

pigletmania · 26/05/2011 14:23

Meant not nice

BaronessBomburst · 26/05/2011 14:26

Well, I'd not heard it before! Think it's really funny. :)

Fimbo · 26/05/2011 14:26

Piglet is your mother demented?

I thought the story was funny a bit of light relief. Gosh you lot are harsh.

LaurieFairyCake · 26/05/2011 14:28

That's really funny Grin not heard it before

and it's a good bit of light relief considering the abortion and the abuse threads

Pictish · 26/05/2011 14:29

Hmmm...this is what comes of over egging the pudding.

Humorous story ruined by the 'now I'm banned from Sainsbury' bit.

Less is more OP. Wink
