To want revenge on sodding Ikea

Spent over £1000 online at Ikea plus a delivery charge for them to deliver new wardrobes and chest of drawers. Am 31 wks pregnant and have waited in all day for them to arrive with a 19mth old wanting to play outside. When delivery truck finaly arrives the driver parks up and hands me delivery notice - I ask sweetly if he wouldn't mind taking boxes upstairs as obv I can't lift them when he suddenly decides that he can't leave the truck in our street as cars can't get by (they could easily!!!) but when I suggested he park two doors down he replied that he couldn't deliver today and would have to come back.

He was parked outside my house and refused to offload my goods!!!! Needless to say I was fuming. Called Ikea and they said it was my fault for not telling them i live in a residential strt. BUT HE WAS ALREADY PARKED FFS!!!! The earliest delivery time they cld rearrange was for June 14th - 3 weeks away. I spoke to the manager to complain - nothing - when I asked how do I make a formal complaint I was told I had to e-mail them.

Somehow that isn't satisfying this burning hatred I have for the store,it's management and those bs delivery drivers who I am sure p***d off early to the pub...any suggestions how to quell the rage and get my own back?

That is really shitty

SnuffleTurtle153 · 24/05/2011 21:29

Talk about it on a popular forum, spreading the word that they are shit shit shit and people shouldn't shop there.

...Maybe send them a link to this thread in your email? Wink

Angry for you. Ikea are shit at this. We complained a couple of times about things we'd collected and when we got them home were damaged. Told to put it in writing Angry We had to trawl all the way back to Gateshead (40 mins) Grrrrrrrrrr

Jonnyfan · 24/05/2011 21:32

I don't know if the delivery has changed in Ikea. When I've bought large things- 3 seat sofa and a chair on one occasion then dining room table and 6 chairs- you had to lug everything round to the delivery desk (on a trolley) to arrange delivery. It was an independant company, they delivered either 1 or 2 days later for £25 to my area. No problems, delivered early morning into the right room.I'm sure they asked all the questions about parking restrictions etc, and was it house/flat.
Had a sofa bed delivered 2 years ago, bought online , again delivery fine.
Hope they haven't gone t*ts up with the delivery because it was the only place I could walk in and get furniture home 2 days later.
