I think i already know the answer but i got so annoyed in Monsoon I wandered out muttering loudly (to my Mum) that it was a disgrace that Monsoon charge a fair whack for baby girls dresses and don't give you matching knickers.

Baby girls dresses get all over the place, especially as my one is teething and i often catch her eating them and it looks rubbish when you see vest or nappy (in hot weather) not covered by matching knickers. I know you can buy knickers but at that price they should come with the dress.

I am turning into Mummyzilla aren't i?

Yes. Yes, you are.

thisisyesterday · 22/05/2011 20:44

you are slightly insane

Honeydragon · 22/05/2011 20:45

I actually (worryingly Grin) think I know where you're coming from. If Matalan and Primark can rustle up a pair of matching knicks for a tenner, then Monsoon should be able to do so for £30 upwards for the same.

Bairyheaver · 22/05/2011 20:45

YABU for buying your dd monsoon dresses for everyday wear. Go to asda!

thisisyesterday · 22/05/2011 20:47

but honeydragon Monsoon don't want that kind of baby wearing their dresses.... you know, the kind that flash their butt at people.
not very ladylike is it now?

so they sell them without knickers, safe in the knowledge that only those babies who have been taught good manners will wear them Wink

smoggii · 22/05/2011 20:50

It was for an occasion... and i didn't buy i wandered out muttering like a crazy person, then went to BabyGap where they were having a sale and got a gorgeous dress with matching knickers for £12.50 Grin

She's a bad mannered Knicker flasher Blush - clearly not a Monsoon baby

I agree

good excuse to spend your money at h and m on their lovely baby dresses ( with knickers) and get matching hat as well! all for less than a monsoon dress

I could have bought about 6 when I was in there last time

thisisyesterday · 22/05/2011 20:53

although if you were a good mother smoggii you would buy 2 of the dresses, and make the spare one into some knickers for her.

or buy a loom and make some matching material and THEN make matching knickers

Meglet · 22/05/2011 20:54

'bad mannered knicker flasher' Grin

smoggii · 22/05/2011 20:56

thisisyesterday I already know what a terrible mother I am, I don't own a single item from Boden Shock

Shock

your poor baby! wanna watch out you don't get reported to SS!

microserf · 22/05/2011 21:44

erm, i'm with op here. monsoon is bloody expensive as all hell (although lovely dresses) - why not a pair of knickers? everyone else seems to manage it.

Yabu to buy dresses for a baby girl. It is insane. You need linen trousers and nice tops.

Nude is the new black this season dahling - simply buy your dd a pair of baby Louboutins and wait for those shocked admiring glances.

Must dash, mwah, mwah, gotta keep up with fashionista shaven maven Liz Jones on the sleb thread.

babybythesea · 22/05/2011 22:05

And my dd just flashes her nappy. And I let her - it just never occurred to me to worry about it. I'll ring SS and turn myself in .....

smoggii · 22/05/2011 22:11

babybythesea skip SS I think that's a criminal offence Grin

I've taken a chill pill since this afternoon and i'm more relaxed about our Bloomer 'situation'. If I ever do get a Monsoon dress I might have to go with non matching underwear Blush

You need to use cloth nappies - you can get some beautiful ones :)

strandedbear that's an excellent idea, would never have thought of it [mentalnoteemoticon]

And Wallace they still wouldn't match which was kind of my insane unreasonableness but you're right they would be much prettier greener than disposables on show.

It's like a different world over in the girl's section.

Here I am asking about double stitching and whether I can bleach it...

chipmonkey · 22/05/2011 23:07

I Did Not Know About This.Shock Really, I didn't, I thought baby girls with frilly knickers was a 1970's thing. I would never be organised enough to have the dress and the knickers clean and wearable at the same time.
