To hate the phrase "save the date"?

It's just so, meh. I don't know.

A colleague uses it, it's like it's being exclaimed with glee (she uses lots of !!!! after it) and it sounds, ummm, kind of pathetic.

I don't know, I've only had one such request (for last night, as it happens). It was for a wedding reception and the request was made months ago, so fine by me... Repeated requests to "save a date" that came to nothing would seriously piss me off, as I am self-employed and usually work evenings, and weekends are particularly busy.

Not being used in a wedding capacity, I mean more like a "this is the day I'm launching my latest project" at work way.

Though I admit I'd never use wedding invites with this on because of it!
