I seem to be doing it quite a lot recently.

Am I losing my MN self esteem?

Or could it be something more serious do you think?

Maybe it's infectious and now you've all caught it from reading my OP?

I should really delete this before I get a telling off for not having a point or asking AIBU.

OK.

Thought of one.

AIBU to delete or should I...

ChaosTrulyReigns · 21/05/2011 00:18

none

GotArt · 21/05/2011 00:18

Maybe you're deleting because after writing it all out, you realize it makes no difference what crap you say. Complacency? Boredom? The fad of MN wearing off maybe? I have times like that. Not this time, mind you. Grin

Sometimes when I'm not feeling so strong I want to answer a thread on an issue I feel really strongly about, I type out the answer, and then I delete it. Just can't be bothered with the crazies crawling out of the woodwork sometimes, can't face the same old same old circular debates and self-justification. Just on my weaker days. Some days I feel combative and don't mind.

madhattershouse · 21/05/2011 00:19

I do this all the time...not asintelligent funny as lots of the other posters so get cold feet!! Grin

TheNoodlesIncident · 21/05/2011 00:32

I type loads of posts then just leave the thread without posting it, mostly because I realise I'm only repeating what everyone else has said already, or because there's been too much time passing since the last post. Also, a lot of the time I read it back and feel like a chump.

AgentZigzag · 21/05/2011 00:34

I think if I took out of your post the word 'strong' and replaced it with 'bothered', it'd sum it up for me quite well Grin

OP posts:
DontHassleTheBOF · 21/05/2011 00:36

I leave a post at least once a day. Mostly because I realise that I don't really care.

AgentZigzag · 21/05/2011 00:38

hehe I do that Noodles.

Write a post

Go off to do a nappy change

Post

Realise I've posted in the middle of a bunfight

Get stuck in with really hard buns Grin

About two-thirds of the time I write something then delete it.

Either because the thread has moved on/died since I started typing, or because what I was typing was such shit I couldn't bring myself to post it.

AgainWhen · 21/05/2011 01:12

Just done it. With this thread.

AgentZigzag · 21/05/2011 01:22

G'wan AgainWhen, post what you were going to say (unless you were slagging me off Grin)

ednurse · 21/05/2011 01:35

Nearly all.

DaisyLovesMetronidazole · 21/05/2011 02:45

I do it quite a bit.

I tend to realise that something I have said WILL be deliberately misinterpreted/strawmanned or that it'll make no difference as those who disagree do so strongly and those who agree don't need convincing.

Me. Blush
I have a tendency to be a bit blunt. Some might call it bitchy. Some would see it as showing off.
I self-identify way too easilyGrinBlush
I know I tend to talk a lot in RL, so I don't want to compound it on-line.
Because sometimes it comes out sounding "Yeah! Me too!"
I don't want to get yelled out for making a thread zombie Grin

wordsonascreen · 21/05/2011 06:32

I have a constant desire to post get a fucking grip on quite a few threads ...particularly self indulgent look at meeeeee and patently made up amusing threads where the OP seems to think her gcse grade D English makes her the new Stephen Fry of MN.

But I don't
(often)

MoChan · 21/05/2011 08:17

About as many as I actually post. I am always giving up half way through.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/05/2011 08:20

Never, tis why it looks like I spout loads of shit. I really ought to invest in somesort of ferretfilter

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/05/2011 08:20

....and a spacebar

BelleDameSansMerci · 21/05/2011 08:21

I do this a lot. Sometimes I just can't be arsed bothered with the inevitable response to some questions. I don't know why I bother to read some of the OPs really - the outcomes are so predictable after a while. I'm still here though and still reading them Hmm

UrsulaBuffay · 21/05/2011 08:23

I do it a lot . Sometimes I think, oh you're being a birrofa twat, sometimes I think oh I can't be bothered or don't have time to defend my point, only to come back later to find someone else has said it so I just nod at the screen. Sometimes as others have said, I type quite a long post then think 'I really don't care enough...'

PurveyorOfBaloney · 21/05/2011 08:25

I type answers all the time, then tend to get all by the end of it.

Probably because I have nothing else to add really

fatlazymummy · 21/05/2011 10:06

I do it a lot, sometimes I get halfway through then I realise I can't be arsed. I do this on other forums as well.

ContraryMartha · 21/05/2011 11:53

All the time.

Glad it is not just me.
