Yes, I probably am a bit.

I'm defecting from Weightwatchers and going to SW instead. Cannot stand the new WW plan. I lost two and a half stone on the old one but have either gained or stayed the same on the new one. So I'm offski.

I was hoping that there would be some nice MNers who are doing SW who might have sone pearls of wisdom they could send my way :)

Yes YABU, put it in food and diet section

notsoqueenofclean · 18/05/2011 22:38

Read the Food Optimising book from cover to cover if this is your first experience of SW.

Extra Easy really is Extra Easy

If it says you need to weigh or measure, do it! Don't guess like i do

Don't deprive yourself of those treats you enjoy - try to aim for at least 10 syns a day otherwise you'll start of with nothing and then when you start to flag a little, you'll reach for the treats and that is when the weight will go back on because your body is no longer used to them.

Always go and stay to group.

If you have a bad day, start again at the very next meal - don't beat yourself up about it. We're all human.

Keep a food diary for the first 4 weeks at least. Sounds a pain in the arse but you'll be surprised how effective it can be. Write down EVERYTHING that goes into your mouth!

Good luck! I lost a stone and a half in 8 weeks on SW Grin

There's no-one over there and I start tomorrow.

Thanks though, police constable Mumsnet.

Definitely stay to class, I'm only 5 lbs off target good luck.

squeakytoy · 18/05/2011 22:42

The easier a diet is, the harder it is to lose weight in my experience!

I have started using the myfitnesspal website and phone app, and that is the best tool I have ever discovered.

bupcakesandcunting · 18/05/2011 22:42

Oh that's what I wanted to hear, Queen! I go on holiday in six weeks and I want to lose the 8lbs I put back on on propoints.

Do you do more red or green days? I can see how you would lose loads eating lean protein but the carbs days don't tally with weight loss ime!

I love keeping a food journal. Makes me realise just how much I scoff Blush

I do Extra Easy because I don't like being restricted to only meat or only pasta type stuff.

If you're hungry while on it, you're not doing it right!

Silver1 · 18/05/2011 22:46

Am I being Unreasonable to wonder why you don't just stick with the old WW plan that you have done so well with?

bupcakesandcunting · 18/05/2011 22:47

It's weird though, extra easy. Isn't that just normal eating?! Grin

borderslass · 18/05/2011 22:50

No you have to have a certain balance, I stick to red and green more red though as I like my meat.

bupcakesandcunting · 18/05/2011 22:51

No YANBU, silver!

Because the meetings are so geared towards the new plan, as is the website, it's difficult to do. Our leader checks our trackers too, so I'd have to either write up a fake tracker or face her wrath when she sees I am a renegade Grin

A bit, but you're just more careful with how you cook stuff. It works, honestly

bupcakesandcunting · 18/05/2011 22:52

Me too, Borders. Am planning a huge lamb rogan josh for dinner tomorrow!

notsoqueenofclean · 18/05/2011 22:52

i lost 6 pounds in the first week (which is only 2 off the amount you want before your hols...) Grin

borderslass · 18/05/2011 22:52

By the way don't mention WW it's classed as a swear word by some consultants Grin

bupcakesandcunting · 18/05/2011 22:57

Well done, queen. You must be really pleased! I hope I get a similar result this week!

Borders I won't mention WW but I am toying with ringing my old ww leader to tell her I'm leaving and why. No-one really likes the plan but she talks about it like it's the best thing since mooncups. I think she needs to know!

Buppy is a fellow slimming worlder! I am on it now, it is sooo easy to do, though if you don't like the changes to WW you may not like it as IMO the new WW seems a bit slimming world-y.

I am on it cos I'm bfing and it is the only diet that I've seen that you can follow safely when ebfing - I get lots of extra healthy extras and can have the full 15 syns. I have lost 16lbs in about as many weeks. Not lightning speed but it's fine by me as it's so easy to follow and I haven't stuck to it like glue either - and at least I know I'm not starving myself and I'm still producing lots of milkies for dd! Good luck, hope you get on with it! Grin

I'll be honest, I probably lost far quicker with weightwatchers years back, but the last time I tried WW I just couldn't stick to it as there wasn't enough food - you can eat LOADS with SW though... Grin
