To not like any babies but my own?

It's not like I hate them, I just don't want to hold them, coo over them or talk about them all the time!

Everytime I see friends with babies they say "here... Have a cuddle" and a snotty baby I didn't give birth to is thrust at me without question.

They don't do this to DH, or to my childless friends.
If shopping or at lunch it's incessant baby talk, baby shops and baby problems.

surely, "here, have a cuddle" is a euphemism for "for god's sake will you please give me a break from this screamy little monster for 5 minutes"?

Fine, assuming you never did it to anyone else with your own child.

Oh I like cuddling small babies!

So glad it's not just me! I really don't have any interest in other people's children at all, generally I just find them quite unappealing.

Not bu, everyone's different.. I go all gooey over babies, and love holding them. But know lots of people who don't really like the baby stage even with their own.

I was actually surprised relieved that I was OK with my own babies though.

But other peoples babies just remind me of my own, so I'm not sooo...'hold them at arms length'

YANBU, I also have no interest hearing about 'bumps' how much they are kicking, what their cot bedding is like, what is going to happen when they are born etc etc...its like peoples dreams- only entertaining to the person who had it!

I love my own, I'm obsessed with her every move, but didn't shove her at everyone else to hold and don't really get why everyone does this to me... (and everyone else!)

YANBU. I don't have any desire to hold, talk to or coo over other people's babies or small children at all. It's particularly annoying to me that this was accepted before I had my own children but as soon as the DDs were born and still now, years later, folk seem to expect me to have changed my opinions.

Oh. I love babies and giving them a cuddle. I especially love babies who are cuddly babies and would sort of cling back.
