To wish DP would show some interest when he's not here too

DP stays at my house every other weekend (when the kids are at their dad's house). We do see each other during the day on odd days of the week too when kids are at school. Anyway we've just spent a lovely weekend together, he tells me he loves me and misses me etc and then goes home - once he's gone I don't tend to hear much from him. I sent him a text earlier and got quite a short, blunt response. I later sent him a text asking which t-shirt he said he'd liked on a website (as I was going to buy him it) and have had no response at all.

I don't mean to come across as needed and clingy but it sometimes seems that he only "wants me" when I'm in the flesh so to speak and when I'm not around I'm quickly out of sight, out of mind.

AIBU? I probably am judging by my overall shitty hormonal mood

Could he just be shite at replying to stuff?

I'm really crap these days, it's no reflection on the person text/emailing me at all.

Do you want more and you don't see any signs that he does as well?

That is an occasional boyfriend, not a partner.

Don't you see him any other nights of the week? Is it possible he is maintaining two relationships if you only see him every other weekend?

its a long story tbh, we were together a year, then moved in together for a year, it all went tits up after various episodes (dishonesty, controlling etc) and so we split. Realised we got on a lot better after we started living seperately so went back to "dating" again.

This brings us to the current situation where he stays here every other weekend and I see him during the day other times but when we're face to face he's all lovey dovey, can't get enough of me, tells me he loves me, says he misses me etc etc but then as soon as he's gone again it seems he doesn't want much to do with me until the next time we actually "see" each other.

Tonight has been the worst though. When he left my house earlier he said he wouldn't be on facebook tonight as he was having an early night but would text etc before bed. He replied to one text earlier but I sent him one at 5.30pm and he never replied. Sent him another one at 8.30pm asking if he'd received my earlier text and again no reply.

He's not usually this bad. TBH I think the novelty is wearing off a bit for him. I'm starting to think we should just call time on the whole thing.

So what he says to you face to face doesn't match up with the evidence of how he feels about you when he's away, ie not a lot.

If you're not happy with dating someone (who IMO you should have left when you found out he was controlling and dishonest) find someone else who thinks more of you and wants to talk/text you all the time.

Most relationships keep moving either forward or backward. You tried living together, it didn't work, what's your plans for the future? Do you want to continue like this, because unless you have set a time limit where you make a decision about what you are going to do then essentially the two of you are bed buddies and nothing more?

Even if he texted you every half hour what would it prove? You aren't suited to be together so focus your energy on someone who is worth it.
