I V+ strangeways, and am currently watching it, am I the only one, who finds it absurd that these people who have killed some one's child/family member are being thrown in front of the TV without a thought for their victims family??

Absolutely agree!

I would hope the families have been forewarned by the relevant authorities or at the very least, the tv company.

There is another thread on this show. How else could they do a programme on prisons without showing criminals?

shabbapinkfrog · 10/05/2011 22:18

That was my first thought when I watched it last night. The bloke who was allowed to get married Angry About 4 years ago we were in our local Asda. Three men came in the store and attempted an armed robbery. We were stood about 5 yards away from them. They eventually gave up and drove away but it was weeks and weeks before I stopped stuttering and crying. I find it difficult to shop in there even now. I also felt very sad for their children - so used to being searched by the prison staff. The programme drove me mad!!

The families of victims will absolutely been informed by the Production Company. They have to to avoid OFCOM fines etc.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 11/05/2011 08:07

didn't watch it
but victim liaison officers will have been involved with the families of any victims, ensuring their views are taken into account

I watched with interest too. And felt rather shook up looking at a convicted murderer with no remorse on his face
