to not 'get' Opera?

I like all sorts of music, but I really can not learn to appreciate the genre that I perceive as caterwauling.

Blush

Is this a life skill to be able to appreciate all things cultural?

Or am I just too young, and it's something I'll learn to enjoy as I drift slowly to my twiglet years?

Confused

Is there a starter for numpties?

If you are keen to get into opera, try the English National Opera (see www.eno.org). Sung in English and the set design is usually an interesting and sometimes spectacular (ie Turandot which had the setting of a Chinese restaurant was amazing) update to the traditional.

But with anything, it's personal taste; eg I love opera but something like the ballet bores me entirely.
