to feel sorry for my dd

My dd is in yr 2 and went to a class mate's house for a birthday party. Her best friend who hasn't been in school since Thursday was there.

I said to the girl's mum, 'x was missed on Thurs/Fri what's been up?'

The response from the mum was 'oh some selfish bitch couldn't be bothered to miss a party we went to last weekend, and 15 out of the 20 people there came down with norovirus, after the event it transpired she'd been ill with it for the last few days with it so she must have bought it.'

Now my dd tonight has come down with D&V and will now miss the school trip tomorrow all because 'some selfish bitch couldn't be bothered to miss a party we went to last weekend'!!!

I wouldn't normally have that attitude over catching a bug, these things happen but a) for this woman to bitch about how it occurred for her and b) that there's a school trip tomorrow - I just feel sorry for my dd.

I don't think it's appropriate to call a child a "selfish bitch" to another Mum.

I do sympathise with your DD who is ill through no fault of her own. I work in a school and if only people stuck to the 48 hour rule there would be a lot less pupil and teacher absence.

Does this mean that the best friend has now also spread the virus by going to a party? Seems a bit hypocritical!!

Hope your daughter feels better soon.

Sorry to clarify - the mother was calling another adult a selfish bitch and I was calling this mother on here a selfish bitch - not the child.

No children were called names in the writing of this thread Grin

Only adults!!!

Sorry - I thought the other mum called the other child it! Blush

This family may be the ones spreading it, or it may be coincidence - but it was just the fact that the mother was moaning about practically the same situation she was doing 7 days later.
